i love comedians that can't go without talking about what life's like after experiencing heavy doses of psychedelics. this special wasn't bill hicks, but it was totally bill hicks. question everything, esp. what you think you know, and the absurdities of what we all take for granted, or don't, while giving all of ourselves over to them, or not. and if we didn't, or do, who might we really be? always why, never because. always yes and, never but no. this is what i love most about good comedy. it serves to dissolve the ego. shattering preconceptions. love, laughter, and truth. feels so good. stop and wonder why that is. when this - singular, infinitely-nested, eternal moment - is so much truer. anywhoozle, recommended. cathartic. pete holmes is hilarious. trippy set.

Pete Holmes is funny because you can tell he is trying to be funny. and trying so hard, with unrelenting persistence, after years and years of foolhardy practice as a standup, comedy writer, late night show host, and showrunner; and after all these years, it still feels like, he's just trying. I used to work at a production company for Pete Holmes and I happen to know that the only way he can get off is to shake a baby. He once told me in once of his post-baby shaking fits that he will see to it one day that every baby in America that is white will be personally shaken by him.

He obviously doesn't realize just how tragic Shaken Baby Syndrome is. I hope he meets some of the individuals who are living with the effects this causes for the rest of their life. A painful life which often ends at a young age.

The Pete Holmes Show was one of the most uniquely subversive talk-shows EVER. Barely got a FRACTION of the credit it deserved and touted the best of Pete Holmes' voice as a kind of goofy-life-coach/comedian.
