There is no question in my mind that an advanced alien race has been coming and going for thousands of years.
I think this planet is a biological lab. This also explains why they don't want to be seen. It will affect their experiment.
If I hadn't seen a beautiful saucer shaped craft over 50 years ago with my own eyes, I would've laughed at the above statement.
I saw a picture a few years ago, of the exact saucer depicted in a cave in Australia over 30, 000 years ago!
I didn't even know there were modern enough humans at that time, to draw with such clarity and detail!
