Jon talks about being a hoarder, buying his first guitar back from a kid he sold it to years ago, getting a DJ in New York to play Bon Jovi’s first hit Runaway, his first-ever recording on the Star Wars Christmas album, not wanting to record Livin’ on a Prayer, Bruce Springsteen being his idol, taking long drives together, hanging out with Michael Jackson and Bubbles in Tokyo, the cover art for Slippery When Wet, and his new documentary Thank You, Good Night: The Bon Jovi Story.

Boring new song. At work I’m subject to the same rotation of about ten hits including this lame Legendary single. Each time I hear it I hate it more. The lyrics sound like something thrown off while taking a shower and the music written by artificial intelligence when bland hit music are the instructions. This is yet another example of why top ten music today is so full of bland crap. And to make matters worse, the phrasing of legendary is just flat. It’s not a good word to base a song on. And it’s a tad conceited too.

As a teen, I was obsessed with Bon Jovi, and I persuaded my parents to take me to Sayreville, NJ. My dad was working in NJ at the time. I had my picture taken with JBJ's first guitar at a place that was dedicated to them. I have no idea if it's the same one he's referring to. but I think so. Sadly, I don't have the photo anymore. I also went to their homecoming gig at Giant's Stadium for the NJ album, which has to be the best gig I have ever been to. I'm 52 now and will never forget that experience!

Been called as a Metal Hijabi when i was in high school just because i was in hijabi and like to sing and hear Bon Jovi's songs. They're rock band not metal, but i was okay with that call.
I had some of their casettes as well including Jon's solo album which had Midnight in Chelsea.
Even the father of my kids once wanted to give our baby name SAMBORA because he knew that i like Bon Jovi so much, and he wanted to call our son as Sam.
Well, sending love from Indonesia to Bon Jovi!

I saw BonJovi’s Slippery When Wet tour in Hershey Pa. It was during the summertime and about a million degrees. I got all the way down to the barrier right by the stage. They were spraying the crowd with hoses to keep cool. The stage became very wet and when Jon came running out, he slipped and fell. When he got up he was laughing and had the biggest smile of his face. He was at that moment the most beautiful man I had ever seen

Jon has also been quite honest about how his band's biggest hits were co-written by Desmond Child.
He openly admits that Childs co-wrote their biggest hits.
Publish or perish is a motto accurate in both academia and music.
I’m no fanboy.
I just like his music. He seems like a good guy. I could kick back with him, grab a beer and talk about music for a while.
He’s relatable. That’s a big part of his appeal.

I remember when I had seen Bon Jovi in concert in Chicago for their Slippery When Wet tour. Just before playing Wanted Dead or Alive, Jon Bon Jovi told the crowd they were using our concert as the actual recording for the Wanted Dead or Alive music video. The crowd was incredibly electric! Sure enough, the music video appeared on MTV shortly thereafter. Just an amazing experience! One of my favorite bands of all time!

I was stationed on a NATO AWACs airbase in Geilenkirchen West Germany, I had tickets to see Bon Jovi, me and my battle buddy were ready to rock. Something ARMY came up, couldn't make the bus but my buddy did. I still can''t believe I missed the chance to see him (I wanna say in Dusseldorf) My buddy said it was leather mini skirts everywhere. And I missed it. :(

Loved this interview, however he said when doing slippery in 1986 no fax machines/no cell phones-his memory is giving way!
All on 80's documentaries, my dad got his fax machine in 1985 fax machines became ubiquitous in offices/homes in the 1980s and 1990s-my dad also still has his first mobile phone from Summer of 1985 his Motorola 8000X!

Oh man, that was so cool to see that legendary musician! He is true to his music, true to his girl, true to his hometown friends, true to his roots and place in history and I am honored to have shared some time on this planet at the same time! You are a blessing, my humble Thanks and Best Wishes always your way! Peace!

Lol, I loved that Star Wars Christmas album, I still have my old og vinyl of it. I still have my vinyl of Bon Jovi's first album, never would have thought of that connection. As a music trivia lover, a good gem to know. I was able to meet the whole band a long, long time ago, each one were just the nicest guys.

What did Jon Bon Jovi ever have to sacrifice very much It seems like for the most part, except for that brief period of struggle with getting people to recognize Runaway, it seems like the doors flew open for him pretty easily. When you make it when you're still in your early and mid-20s, did you really sacrifice

O my gosh: first time in a decade that I really, really see him smile from the heart. It makes me happy also. I am sooooo looking forward to the new album, it's gonna be one BIG JOY! Thank you Jon, for being a survivor and being such a good example to all of us! NEVER give up, and trust yourself.

What a great guy. I love his gray hair, so pretty. He is a great musician. I saw Bon Jovi in concert many years ago, what a amazing concert. I really liked seeing the entire band before Ritchie left. He sang Hallelujah and it was amazing. He put so much meaning into that song. A great guy.

Jon is one of the nicest and most genuine celebrities. One of the best songwriters and performers of all time too!
Still got one of his guitar picks that I got at the Melbourne 2008 show. 13 year old me was starstruck in the front row!

i can't wait to watch it. been a fan since i was in middle school (over 30 years ago. i especially want to know what happened with Alec John Such and Richie Sambora. i've heard a little bit about it, but i never scoured the news to find out.

Jon is aging like a fine wine. Dude looks awesome. Have always been a fan of his music, even though it’s less rock-oriented now. Miss Richie, but maybe the two of them will patch things up and get back together someday.

Did Jimmy ask Anchovy about screwing over bands like Skid Row by taking their publishing rights for the 'honor' of being his opening act Or about putting a few bee hives on his NJ property to forfeit taxes

Met a certain band member when we were teens. Somewhere in my photos are a picture with him and a cousin. We were 15. Imagine my shock when I saw him on an album cover! P. S. it wasn’t Jon.

Ahhh one of the many joys of living in New Jersey, is that so many celebrities do too! Bon Jovi is so very special to have here! They wouldn't be here if it wasn't a great state to live in!

cool to see him give a brief mention to Lynyrd Skynyrd. never would have put Bon Jovi and Skynyrd together, but I always find that bands from those days mention Skynyrd as an influence
