Seriously though, do you I can't remember. The most trouble I remember having was having to pass some kernel boot flags on an Nvidia graphics card about 10 years ago, and how Windows 11 still has the propensity to nuke /boot/efi partitions on other drives, if you're not careful.
These days, i keep Windows safely locked away from any real hardware, though to be honest, I cant remember the last time I booted that VM.
You've got your Mac for all your Creator apps, but even now, Linux is actually usable for creative work. Imagemagick, Krita, Inkscape and GIMP all just work and support CMYK color space and both my Wacom and Huion tablets out of the box. (I do part time & freelance Graphic Design for print work)
Plus, with the advent of Flatpaks and AppImages (we don't talk about Snaps, software has become more stable and predictable, and now is as easy as opening up an app store and clicking install. Its akin to how Windows stores different versions of system DLLs in in the Winsxs folder so programs always have a stable reference to shared libraries they were compiled against.
I use Steam with experimental/user Proton fixes to launch all my Steam games, and Lutris/Bottles to launch all my non steam games. Even the ones that won't work at all on Win11. (I'm looking at you, Beyond Good and Evil)
And, since is mandatory for any user of my distro of choice:

I dont claim to be an expert in PC components or performance but I felt like you should be getting a bit better performance in some of those games with the cpu/gpu combo you have. Ultra Performance with Framegen should be much higher than 100 fps in those games, even at 4k. At that Dlss you are rendering the game at 720p. My only guess is something with your cpu might be configured oddly Only drawing 3w during gaming ( might have just been that single core you were tracking in the overlay) is low compared to what I saw online where the cpu should be pulling 60-100w. Im sure you are more knowledgeable then most and have checked the setting like XMP or whatever it is for AMD but I just felt the fps were a bit low.

This made my 10 minute walk to work very nice to listen to.
If you listen closely, you MIGHT hear Clint drool a bit during the video.
Modern gaming test:
1. Can it run Cyberunk 2077 on Ultra High setting ( edit: pass. but barely, wait till he starts adding mods )
If not, fix and repeat 1
2. Can it run DOOM: The Dark Ages on Melt your GPU Insane High setting
If not, adjust and goto 1.
And the ultimate test.
3. Can it run classic or Brutal Doom
Keep up the great work. The world is glad you are okay sir.
Maybe one day do another Unboxing video for old times sake.

For what it's worth Clint, while I get wanting something from Valve themselves for a full fat desktop SteamOS release, honestly Bazzite should be just-as if not more stable than any official SteamOS would be. Fedora Atomic is damn near a bullet-proof system to work from, and then on top of that they're using the same immutable setup SteamOS is.
The only real reason right now I'd hold off is that Nvidia is still working out their open source Linux driver stack, though they are getting pretty close to finally having a decent level of support the likes of which AMD does on Linux. Not long now we'll hopefully have Microsoft sweating a little.

Cool build! It's almost the same to mine, except I went with a Ryzen 7900 because of its low energy use. I splurged a bit more on a 4080 Super and 64 Gb ram (and the Pro-Art mobo. It's been a rock solid and stable build. I was a little bit disappointed though with the case. It looks way more premium than it actually is. My previous case (Define R3 iirc) was way more polished. The North range really is a mid-range case at best, I would've gladly paid a bit more to get a bit more quality (whilst retaining the looks.

MFERKer could have gotten a whole dam pc for 500 bucks minus the gpu with a amd 5700x3d in it. I just paid some scalper 300 bucks just for the cpu. 2 weeks ago. Spent all day driving around too the last mom&pop pc shops around even and nothing, who knew Jawa had the pc parts i was looking for!
If only this video came out few weeks ago. Really didn't want too upgrade my cpu now my pc wants to upgrade to windows 11. Why after putting almost any upgrade in a pc test games from 20 years ago just feels good.

I am not much of a gamer anymore, so my last 'game' pc's are usually just some middle of the road prebuilds that are good enough for the basics. But recently somebody asked me to build their gaming PC, and I thought, why not, how difficult can it be I can build an office PC in 10 minutes.
4 HOURS! FOUR! and then we still weren't ready, and had to install the OS the next day.
Most of the trouble was the same, doing this unknown liquid cooling thing for the first time, where does it even go

4k is over rated. Been there done that. 1440 is a good medium. But 1440 on a 4k monitor makes it look like crap. Glad my 4k died. 1440 offers a good balance of performance and beauty. I mean KDC2 looks fantastic and runs more stable than it did on 4k. Runs good on ultra on my 3070ti with a 3700x and 32g ram. Fram gen is lackluster and is not a solution because it increases input lag. Don't need DLSS on 1440. DLSS is also over rated. Skylines 2 running on Dx11 Thought it was 12. Win 11 sucks for gaming.

Really cool looking build, yeah Realtek and MediaTek drivers are the worst, it's really annoying that they won't directly distribute drivers because manufacturers never post the updated ones on their website so you always have to go hunting on other manufacturers websites
that use the same chip for updated drivers.
Besides better performance that's one of the big advantages of boards that use Intel chipsets for Wi-Fi you can always just go to their website and get the latest driver

I built last year a somewhat similar PC as my first build. Lately, I played PS3 emulation at 4K120 (Ratchet & Clank games specifically, which was a mostly flawless experience. Despite the pricing and availability issues, this is a great time for PC gaming.
Also, yeah, Cities Skylines 2 is a mess to run. It can saturate all the 32 threads of my 9950X and never reach 60FPS consistently. Oh well! It's the least of the issues this game is enduring at this time.

Potential rising prices of hardware spurred me to accelerate my moar storage is better storage plans. No new computer, but finally getting my new Windows shares box up and running as well as starting to use my free NAS (free as in given for nothing, not the NAS OS thingie.
Also opted for a nice, shiny glass sidepanel case for the Windows box, but that's because it was barely more expensive than a regular case and was in stock.

Helene changed things here in southwestern Virginia. I had just moved to the area in August and Helene hit at probably the worst time. My best friend Marissa and I were with her kiddos that weekend and I felt terrible for her son because he wanted to be outside and she and I both had to say no. She's been wanting to take me to Ashville and show me the beauty of North Carolina. it definitely won't be the same. but I'm excited to see it

As much as I love having a forest around my house, I've removed most of them now. They keep keeling over and taking out my power lines and stuff. And when Milton came through FL, I decided they all had to go. It's sad, really, because forests are awesome. Right now the only things tall enough to fall on my house is an old maple tree that seems to keep on living, so i give it a pass, and a pine tree that so far hasn't gotten sick.

It feels like someone threw over some janky home made filter that makes everything too bright, smerred, almost a copy of those brown games we had 10 years ago. Disgusting. Please, for the love of god, stop ruining old games with this new tech, that does not add nothing, it only makes it look more plastic.
Either keep the old games original, or make a new one. Simple.

I'd like to upgrade to a 4000 series cards but only if the prices drop a bit but as of right now, pretty much any game I play is great at 1440p
Question, on the GPU next to where you plugged in the PSU, what is that little black button

I need to build a new PC too. My current rig has served me well the last several years, but it is getting pretty long in the tooth (GTX 1060 6gb, Skylake i5) And I want to start fresh with an all AMD linux PC this year. I also got it in my head to go mini itx because I don't really see the point in big towers when we don't have big drives anymore and the only card I will have is the GPU.

50xx is not worth the money period. I am a 3D artist and I can't even justify the cost. Going form a 4090 to a 5090 at MSRP you are paying about $400 for 8gb of ram. That's effing Apple pricing, and it only gets worse as you start looking at the inflated market prices. Point is you are completely right to skip the 50xx series sort GPU ever because of the price point.

This storm was the worst we ever had I'm 44 years old and I haven't seen anything this bad since the blizzard of 93 which even that was tame compared to this hope you and everyone is finally getting their lives back in order i do know a few are still struggling in the real rural areas unfortunately but I wish everyone the best. I’ve gotta say, I’ve watched hundreds of your videos and can’t honestly recall how few of them (if any) had truly sponsored segments. I totally understand why you took this sponsorship but also appreciate that you’ve been able to put out all the content you do without relying on them.
