Join me as I go out thrifting, in search of games and interesting goods at various discount shops! Something Tandy is in the air mspenrice: Geez, property taxes and land prices in your part of the world must be deliriously low. I could probably go around every single comparable second-hand place in my entire city and none of them would be as large as the smaller of those goodwills, and nor would they bother taking any electronics or software more than maybe 10 years old (other than the occasional CRT TV or piece of stereo equipment. Mainly they're more bothered with having clothes, jigsaws, plasticky kids toys, books, a few odds and ends of kitchen equipement, crockery and vinyl (which is almost always picked clean of anything decent within seconds of being put out. Because they simply don't have the floor space to waste on things that might sit out for ten years before getting any attention, let alone responding to having acres of junk by -building a whole new section of the store that's just as large as the first- in order to contain more of it. (even if they could afford the construction costs, and the extra annual city taxes that would come along with the additional square footage, there's nowhere to put that extra building. unless you want to knock down an existing building, or place it on what used to be someone's garden, both of which will first require purchasing that property.
A certain amount of it does make it into the pawnshops and buy-and-sell places instead, but anything like that Coco would almost certainly end up in a branch of Computer Exchange for an absolutely ruinous price. Or more likely, a small fraction of it can be found on eBay and Freecycle (and sometimes the larger and more obviously valuable donations are put on the websites of a certain couple of charities, and the rest just goes to landfill. This is a bad country for finding awesome pre-loved computer ware, either hard or soft: (. heck I've even seen a BBC Master I tried to salvage from a previous workplace (someone must have torn off the note I put on it) thrown into the back of a garbage truck: (: (
I think if I get the time and money to go off thrifting the first few hours of my quest are going to involve a plane ride over to the States.

Reveal was a brand name I have a lot of nostalgia for. They had a contract for the military PX system. Many of my first expansions for my radio shack 486-SX 25mhz were Reveal products, From a 670mb hard drive to a 1x speed CD Rom drive. Good memories. I had both those board games in the Army, we used to play in the day room on the pool table,

I live in a town with two goodwills, two habitat for humanity, one Salvation Army, and various other hole in the wall thrift stores. Watching you get excited about finding things you collect for a good deal makes me think I-m not crazy for going to all of those thrift stores at least every other day! Happy thrifting!

We only every had fat jewel cases for ps1 in pal regions. No long cases or std jewel cd cases. They were a pain in the butt about twice as wide as a fat Dreamcast game case or NDS game case about the same as a stack of 4-6 std jewel cd cases, the hinges broke off so easily on those things

It-s a good thing that you left that Partition Magic behind. My dad had installed that on our old Win98 machine, and it started to cause problems, but he didn-t move stuff out of the partitions before uninstalling it and, long story short, it-s a good thing my mom knew how to use DOS.

The Avon cars were really popular with 10yo boys back in the day. I think between my brother and I we had a complete set. I still have the '51 Studebaker, reminds me of my uncle Tom who drove that model car. The cologne/shampoo etal inside them were total crap.

4 minutes in and I'm already jealous. I've been looking for the Warcraft 3 battle chest for ages because I didn't keep my original Warcraft 3 because I was a dumb kid, and plus I never got to experience Frozen Throne. Amazon and Ebay sellers want too much

FINALLY! I started watching the later ones and then came back to the start and ran from there. It took 23 episodes for you to interact with the stone? I kept looking at it thinking -is today the day? - I really need to get out more!
