I played the Sims Freeplay for years and thought the actual Sims games would be a much more immersive experience. But outside of aesthetics and Sim interactions my Sims Freeplay experience was just better. A whole new town came in a a free update (though you had to spend an ungodly amount of simoleons to buy it) but it was there. There are multiple islands with unique game play features and quests you had to complete in order to unlock new features (which presented a challenge and clear motivation for all players. The only main problem I have with it is your sim can't die, but even then the game was fairly difficult.
I still love the Sims 4, I never played earlier games because I'm a graphics nerd and the Sims 4 has pretty chairs but I can't deny that the Sims 4 is very hollow. You can speculate why a game with so much life became so empty, I just think EA realized people would accept whatever they were given.
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

The apartments look huge. Not really realistic. I can built a much smaller budget house. Or a house as large as the apartments in this pack. My point is, the aspect of this where you start in small cheap apartment and work your way up to more expensive bigger house is kind of disappointing because you still have a comfortable amount of space even in apartment. They are purposefully avoiding adding anything hard or challenging. But I would like it more challenging. This way I can just as well start with a shipping container or an eco micro house as a starter home. I like this pack more for its activities and build/buy objects and a careers rather than the actual -living in the apartment- aspect of it.

I would have loved more street level places in this one. Being really high up is nice, but being more down on the ground is also nice. Just wanna watch more cars and trains go by. Watching your sims take the train to travel around the city would have been nice. A big city to live in, going to work in buildings that are like the police station or a restaurant and so on. or a shop you own. Other jobs they don't allow you to see could be gotten too by the train or sim or car going down various tunnels to go to the city bits you see in the background. It would be cool to see the sims live in a city like the one I built in Skylines.

I feel like this is the best expansion. I find myself using it the most, I love the world- though I hate that you have a loading screen to go to your neighbour when you could literally just knock on the door that-s 3 seconds away- and I love the food stalls, the fact you can learn recipes is cool because I find my sims just making the same old garden salads. I love the lot traits, build and buy mode items, CAS items, the rodents are a nice new addition, 3 new careers are really good and I like that you can work at home, the festivals are great. it-s all just great lol

City Living is probably my least fav Sims 4 pack, lot trait was introduced in a free patch, the new town kinda sucks because there's no transportation AKA one of the biggest part of any IRL cities, and the set dressing background made me really sad because it reminds me of Bridgeport which is 10x better. Island Living was lackluster but at least Sulani is beautiful, San Myshuno felt really empty

I still cannot blieve how much Sims4 falls behind the Sims3, which was much more explorable and creative. having been an Sims fan since Sims 1, it all stopped for me the moment I tried to play Sims4 - never experienced a more uninspired game! However, some of the new stuff looks very neat, so thanks for continueing your reviews on the Sims. :-)

City living is still one of my favorite packs! When it came out, it was such a nice change to have other sims come visit autonomously and invite my sims to stuff without me having to plan every interaction. It made me feel less alone and that I was a part of the rest of the town, something that can lack in many of the other worlds.

I never play in san mushino because i have a really hard time with the loading screens as a laptop user. It makes the game extremely frustating and boring and I usually dont go anywhere because of that with my sims. I prefer to have them hang around a suburban house than a tiny appartment thought.

I haven't played the sims 4 but can someone explain to me what does lgr mean by shallow gameplay and that you can do the same things just in different forms?
Isn't it the same with sims 3 you go to work and then off from work which applies to many of the jobs etc?
