I know this is a new comment on a old video, but seeing that Atari brought a story of how I got mine for the outstanding price of free. Yah, my uncle got it when he was a child from Sunnyvale, CA when it was brand new. When they brought it home, the TV the family owned was too old and didn't have an RCA, so the Atari ended up going into the attic having never been played. Many years later he was cleaning out the attic for my grandma, finding the system and immediately thinking of me. This was back in like 2010. Unfortunately, it is not complete. Missing the paddles and the battle tanks game and I believe pong it came with. Still, a very cool piece of tech that has been owned only by my family. With the coolest part being, if true, I am the first person to ever set up and play the console. I suspect a friend had one and they took the games and paddles over to play, never bringing them back home. Very cool to see you get one for 10 bucks complete in the box. I should really complete mine one day just to say I did. Cheers.

I actually was one of the only people in England to actually buy an Atari Jaguar brand new as a kid in 1995 my parents were quite poor so could not afford to pay 500 for a Ps1 so the Atari had to do, played the heck out of Doom on that console, the main thing that killed the Jag was the lack of games available for it, i remember my parents could only find 4 games for the console in the catalogue, seriously anyway is a shame Atari did not try harder with it but once the Ps1 and N64 came along that was the final nail in the coffin for Atari and also Sega Saturn too.

5: 53 oh yeah, when I was a kid, my father had a philco fridge in the garage that had a Ford logo on the front of it. At the same time, my mother had a Frigidaire oven in the kitchen, -A product of General Motors- proudly emblazoned on the control panel. It also had the blue -GM- logo on it. Oh, and a Kelvinator -A fine product from American Motors- dehumidifier with the AMC logo on it. And last but not least, a 1950s -Norge- chest freezer made by Borg-Warner! only thing we were missing was a Chrysler -Air temp- AC unit!

About the chairs with weird swivel tables - My old company had a number of these in -Huddle Rooms- so people could sit and talk over projects. The little tables were good for putting your laptop on or taking notes. I've seen a few around my current company's office too. They're pretty neat for an office environment, and as some have said, educational environment too. If they were more comfortable I'd like one for home to set snacks or a laptop on while watching TV or playing video games.

I want that package of Memorex tapes! Oh my gosh, what a weird wave of nostalgia! I am suddenly remembering the old media corner of the local Meijer store that had racks of cassette tapes & browsing through them looking for the coolest looking tapes so I could make a mix tape to listen to on the bus ride to school. I've not thought of those old tapes in years! Man. amazing when seemingly mundane things trigger old memories like that. Great show!

on the topic of ataries I went to a yard sale and bought 5 different atari 2600 consoles with two original atari controllers and one aftermarket controller and two games and the one controller with all the different buttons but I forgot the name of it for 20$ unfortunately they don't all work correctly but Im working on getting them fixed and there used to be a sega genesis with them but someone bought that before I got there.

- 4: 50 -- I've seen those sorts of chairs used for treatments (like dialisis and/or chemo infusions) -- wheels on bottom and push-pull bars on back to help reposition the patient without having to have them move around too much. The only part that doesn't match up is that they seem to be made of woven fabric which would be really difficult to sanitize between patients.

- 3: 35 O, M, G! I had one of these!
I tried to use it to get to know a girl I really liked in high school!
My so called best friend used it and took her from me.
25 years later, I went from Kentucky to Florida to get her, and we've been married 11 years!
It's a real flashback for me, LOL!

Just randomly found your page, loving the thrift videos. First video, thought to myself -Hmm. those Goodwills look vaguely familiar, but all Goodwills kind of look the same. - Second video I watched, you mentioned North Carolina. Dude! I lived in Asheville, NC for 5 years while going to UNCA! SO COOL

we have those salmon type chairs in our office. we have an area with a bunch of these next to the windows so we can do our work with some natural lighting. :) don't know if that's the intended purpose, but that's where i've seen a similar style. i love these thrifts!
