The sameness of the mechanism was also a problem for me about buying this. It makes sense, they put effort into adding this capability into the game, so they're milking it. Maybe if it weren't third in a row using it, it would have seemed more worth it after something else.
IMO, and I'm working out a good way of wording it, the game needs underlying changes to how the game -works-. And things like traffic management, asset utility and pedestrianised areas could help add more -world- to the game, if the game had the ability to do this. You can make your own roads to allow just heavy goods through an area, or use districts one road wide to forbid anything but city services access, but these are both fairly cludgey, they are part of traffic management mods, though. You can't mix industry (say, for example, the local machinist or business baker, to supply workplaces or shops some local goods) with residential (the old world had business owners make the housing for the workers right next door so that the workers could get to producing quicker, and things like the Mall are not shops, but tourism spots. Why not add policies that allowed housing to mix in an industrial zone that mitigates the downsides of pollution for residents (at a cost? Add policies that allow industrial zones to produce without much pollution (at a cost) in residential areas, so you can mix up housing with urban residential appropriate factories? Make ploppable buildings able to count as X cells of Y type, not only allowing the Malls to act as actual shops, but also allowing modders to add those features to their plopable assets?
As always, the problem for game writers is how to do this so that you can sell it and make money.

Another Cities Skyline pack, another LGR review - feels like treading water; -)
I'm in total agreement about not being excited. I'm only missing 2 packs now and I might get them if they are on sale, but I think I'm just going to continue to play with what I have. I appreciate the commitment from the developers but if I was new getting into this game I would take one look at the cost and run. Steam has a collection that doesn't include this pack currently listed for $155. When I buy a game I like to have all the content, and $155 is way too much (even though I have paid most of that myself, just in bits)
When they eventually decide to bring out C: S 2 whats going to be included? is it going to start out the same, and I'm going to have buy all the packs again? because if so you can count me out. They will need a real good hook which I really hope they do -Maybe Mega cities and extra terrestrial environments-.
I'm not a huge fan of SimCity (original played on PC) but SC 2000 I really enjoyed (even though I bought it for the Amiga and was extremely disappointed because of a bad port it was so slow. I emulated a Mac and through that I played the Mac version which ran better on the same hardware, go figure) I skipped SC 3000 meh! And SC 4 was great, as for SimCity -new- I like it and got it on sale but it wasn't enough for continued play.

Sim City 2013: -
Pros=More Challenging to play with, very good soundtrack, vasty lively atmosphere, good expansion pack, superior sound effects-
Cons=To little space to build, limited customisation, only one expansion set, very bad AI pathfinding(traffic jam is a problem)-
Cities Skylines: -
Pros=Very customisable(allows you to build your dream city, better graphics, gigantic space to build, better AI pathfinding, lots of modding content, more expansion packs-
Cons=Slightly worst expansion packs, very dull atmosphere, very boring music, sometimes to easy to play(unless you're going for entirely green city)
In the nutshell, Cities Skyline is good for unleashing creativity and fulfilling desires to construct the dream city as I wanted to do so. Sim Cities 2013 is good for challenging your management abilities and experiencing the lively atmosphere.

Hey! I'm sorry I'm posting something unreleated here but if there's someone that can help me figure out the name of a certain game is you and your fans! It was an old MS-DOS game that looked pretty similar to the first Lode Runner and Janitor Joe but with the difference that you had to pick the ladder fragments at the corner of the screen in order to build up a ladder and reach items to move to next level. There were enemies that I think followed you up the ladder but I don't quite remember.
If any of you know the name of the game I'm talking about I will be forever in your debt since it's been around my head for months! Thanks in advance

They solved the over-education problem. Now they need to solve the traffic problem. We really need more control over traffic (I know we have mods for that, but It would be nice to have a dedicated expansion to it. Zoning should be improved too. I don't see why we couldn't be able to just plop houses and shops, for example. Having curved buildings that adapt to the road would be nice too. I don't know what they could add for the next expansion, though. Seems like there's not much to add to the current mechanics without changing the game all together.

School of Economics was NOT included in Trade specialization, but on Liberal Arts! Very logical, CO! And when it comes to (some) of those buildings. When you blopped that Liberal Arts Administration Building in place: It appears to have two storeys (+maybe attic. But when you compare it to normal appartment buildings opposite side of the road, every store of those must ve at least 3 normal building store high tall? Is that building just scaled on Blender (or whatever) to that size?
-Skyline of Angry Clashes-? Ok! I got it! :D

I would love some type of city life update: actual crimes being committed as seen in SimCity 4 and SC 2013, car accidents, etc.
I think a politics or civic update would be interesting as well. All other notable city-building games functioned off of mayoral approval. This game doesn't. It would be interesting to see achievements and advances to how you govern your city. Local politics creates different scenarios, people actually have different mindsets based on where they live. Rallies, protests, demonstrations, etc.

Between you and Move the Mouse, I have been anticipating getting back into skylines despite I stopped playing back when After dark dropped. However there's a game similar to this but allows you to go into 3 person and drive around your town as the mayor. Not saying they should but it would be crazy if they actually managed to implement that idea. After hours of hard work just open the tab and go to a walk options and walk and drive amongst your citizens. Coding would be intense but could be done

I hope they'll release a -Mixed Zone- or -vertical city- pack. Where you can zone Industrial and Commercial -Platforms- that we can build road and other transportation on top of and then zone other zones. For example, build a high way on the ground, then commercial platform block on top of that highway, then ramps that go above the commercial block block where we build regular roads and residential zone. The platform zone are always high density but anything above them can be low or high density.

Cities Skylines DLC Campus does only higher education. It doesn-t do lower education.
If there was high school, there would be administrative building, commons, gymnasium, auditorium, language arts department, European language department, Asian language department, special education department, arts department, technology department, science department, mathematics department, social studies department, as well as varsity sports (but lower capacity in seating that the higher education version.
