I just got one of these a few days ago! Its in perfect shape because the owner took meticulous care of it, still has the original slot loading drive! My 2 passions being cars and computers when this video came out I knew I needed one. This week I'm looking through my local ad site and see a complete one for sale, in complete disbelief I was finding it locally in way better shape than any ones for sale on eBay! It's my first time getting into the old PC hobby even though LGR always intrigued me to. Thanks a million for posting the recovery disks. I burnt them and used them with the factory partition and it worked flawlessly I now have the OEM Ferrari theme with Ferrari startup it's such a blessing. I can't thank you enough Clint.
Btw I know this video is 2 years old doubt you will see my comment but if you need me to somehow backup that recovery partition and send it your way just let me know! Or for anyone who has this PC, just drop a comment

Had an acer laptop back then, the thing fell apart.
There's at least 3 pcb repairs on the motherboard, the power connector ripped off on multiple occasions and I went through 6 keyboards til you couldn't source them any more and it only worked with an external keyboard, with questionable track pad results. I could honestly go on with the repairs I ended up making to keep it running whilst I was a dirt poor student. Literally had bailing wire holding the WiFi card in there because the screw holes were so stripped from dismantling it.
Acer build quality is junk. But man, it would be hilarious to see someone with no context over it go through the thing in 20 years and see the horror show.

Ok watching this, I now know I got ripped off by paying $3500. 00 not including the price for all the accessories and safety for it, way back when they first came out I guess. My best friend bought one too the same day. Those boys must have been laughing all the way home. Told us they were the last 2 and that we would never find anything like it again. Just goes to show that we should all do our research before purchasing anything. Thanks for this review!

Tip I read somewhere and applied to my 4 year old controller (a Logitech F710): those rubbery plastic surfaces can actually be cleaned by applying some isopropyl alcohol (some hand sanitizers use it) onto a rag and scrubbing the surfaces with it real hard. Doing this essentially gets rid of the melted layer. I still use the controller today after cleaning it off.

Hi, -LGR, I wonder if I could get you to contact me to make a copy of your restore discs I also finally got my Ferrari 4000 too, & well it is lacking restore discs and HDD so I will have to do it from scratch, & it would be just awesome if you could copy yours and either send them to me digitally or snail mail. Anyhow let me know, I hope you can help me bro.

i remember in 2007 getting a gaming esk laptop it had a 500gb hd, 3 core amd cpu, 4gb ram and a ati 4250m maybe it wasent 2007 i remember def using it 2008. but i used that sucker till mid 2013/14 it was a beast. ish that showed its age almost imediately and trying to play games at the lowest being lucky for 20 fps was fun

Boy does this thing make me miss the days when laptop manufacturers cared more about usability than minimalism. That thing is loaded with ports in every open space it has! 4 USB ports, video output, card reader, etc-? You-re lucky if you get two USB ports these days!

I'm typing this text on my Acer laptop - but not a Ferrari. It's an Acer Extensa 5220 from 2008 with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor (T7500, a Samsung 840 EVO SSD drive, 3 GB RAM and Windows 7 Pro 32 bit. I use this as my daily driver. Most reliable laptop I've ever had.

I had this thing and can say with authority the mouse was garbage and it was far too thin for the amount of heat it needed to dissipate. It would absolutely burn you if you left it on your lap while trying to game.

I have a Ferrari 3000, complete with original box, all the accessories (and I mean all the accessories) along with the original install disks for Windows XP, so the manuals, Norton Antivirus and Toca 2 Reaching game.
