From conception to opening weekend, few movies have had a harder time getting made than Megalopolis. Unfortunately, all that time and energy did little good at the box office, and there are many reasons why. #Megalopolis #FilmNews #FrancisFordCoppola Coppola's been running dry | 0: 00 40 years is too long | 1: 35 The budget wasn't used well | 2: 42 Controversial casting choices | 4: 05 Alleged misconduct on set | 5: 02 Extremely mixed reviews | 5: 53 An embarrassing trailer blunder | 7: 21 The very limited Ultimate Experience | 8: 28 Lionsgate's losing streak | 9: 35 Voiceover By: Alex Mitts Visit Official Looper Website Read Full Article:

The assumption being pushed here is the actual artistic importance of box office receipts.
We can never expect a superficial simpleton like this reviewer to actually understand what a film really is about, if all he can do is draw a line between good. and dollars, and can not see anything else. People didnt like the Godfather or Apocalypse Now in the first week either, and neither did well in the box office in the first while either. Boy. aren't they now idiots. This guy is the same.

The remnants of the studio system led a concerted effort to sabotage a movie and director that proved Hollywood isn't necessary anymore. On a 20-year diet of reboots, remakes, sequels, and prequels, we've lost the capacity to see movies like Megalopolis.

In fairness, Dustin Hoffman has been out of the spotlight for a while. Jon Voight was still in the Ray Donovan movie despite his complaints on liberal hollywood. But Shia LaBeouf however yeah, that’s a tricky area there.

Francis Ford Coppola became a very average filmmaker after the 70s ended. He also has that whole Victor Salva thing looming over his head, which could completely obliterate his reputation one day.

Knowing nothing about this, and not seeing this video yet, I'm going to guess that the reason it's doing badly is because Adam Driver is a terrible actor.

The directors, writers, and actors are stale and boring. Time for new. And enough of all the masonic garbage inserted in all these shitty movies.

The whole you've just got to trust my vision thing in making movies just doesn't work anymore, Frankie. Time to retire to your vineyards FOR GOOD.

Until this past weekend I didn't even know Francis Ford Coppola was still alive Honestly I thought he had passed away years ago

Did they just put Jordan Peele in the same league as Christopher Nolan and James Cameron Jordan Peele is the new M. Night Shymalan.

I've just seen it and it's a very good, deep movie. No big movie in the recent memory has got such a bad press for no real reason.
