Who said it bombed at the box office The film hasn't been out there for more than a week. Some films take a while, plus there are several other movies people are paying to see, especially with what it costs to go to the theaters today. Not everyone is going to run and see everything that is released right off.
I remember several films being written off as bombs only to see people go to see them after their friends have gone to see them.
It seems that critics and videos like this one love to declare something as either dead, a bomb, or a waste of time just because they think they can get away with it. Maybe they didn't like it, but it doesn't mean that everyone else has to also. Yes, I read a few of the comments that also said they hated it, but almost half said they enjoyed it. That speaks volumes.

I was planning on seeing it but then heard how bad it was and not even in a so bad, it's good way where it goes all out with some bonkers idea but just drab and depressing without there being a point to the misery like with the original. As a fan of the first film I was definitely curious about it being a musical but I heard it doesn't really go all the way with that, Lady Gaga is underutilized and the songs don't really help tell the story so to kind of half-ass it will alienate both sides who were either ready to embrace the musical elements in their full glory or didn't want the movie to be a musical period; the filmmakers really should've picked a lane. I also heard it mostly regurgitates what happened in the last movie so why I should watch this when I can go back and watch that again

9: 49 My theory for the ending was that Folie a Deux was not for Joker and Harley but for Arthur and Joker in his mind. I thought the prisoner at the end SPOILERS was the physical embodiment of Joker in Arthurs mind and him killing Arthur was symbolism for Joker completely taking over in his mind. So Arthurs body isn’t dead but the mind of Arthur is and now Joker has completely taken over
Numerous people have told me I am giving the film too much credit and that the ending was a more literal one. I really hope this wasn’t the case but see their points.

A lot of people are saying that Joker shouldn't have had a sequel at all. I disagree. A sequel could have been great with the right script. I think they should have made a sequel wherein it was revealed that Arthur Fleck wasn't the real Joker. I mean, it's kinda staring you in the face that he's too old compared to Batman, his clothes and makeup are wrong, and he's no genius. A good idea would have been that the real Joker arose from the clown movement Fleck started. Maybe even met him in Arkham. Wasted opportunity.

No it was because it was a movie made by a pretentious film maker who wanted to OWN those 5 fans red pilled fans who misinterpreted the first, problem is Phillips isn’t that good of a director, he literally just got Martin Scorsese to direct a clone of one of his masterpieces. So take that talent away and all you get is this horrific amalgamation that even scared away bread tubers

My Takeaway From The Film Was That The Only Hope For The Protagonist Was From A Muse. A Siren. A Damaged & Broken Person Longing For Balance, Understand, Support & True Love. But He Was Damaged Beyond Repair, Had Faith, Trust & Love Wanted & Needed Blind Him. Just Another Damaged Man In A Damaged World To Be Used & Discarded. As A Human Reflection. I Get It, But This Isn't The Joker Story.

Superhero fatigue simply doesn't feel true. What I think people tired of are movies made for consumers more than fans that crave good stories and execution more than anything. Sure, one can argue that the novelty aspect of these movies is slowly dwindling like any other genre, but a properly executed movie with engaging storyline and character will always impress the audience.

I think this video missed the most important reason why The Joker worked and Folie a Deux bombed. The first movie worked because it portrays a very well known comic book character in a very realistic setting, perhaps delving deeper into the mind of Batman's arch enemy. While this newer movie, throws it all out of the window.

Noop wrong people relate to him cause the context in both movies and how he was portrayed in the previous was of a broken man by all society and turned wicked and anarquic against it and when Scott Silver and Todd Phillips decided to define Arthur s definete choice people hated the departure but the creators did it for good reason

worst sequel ever! wasted 2 hr 15 min and i want it back. gaga and it musical sucks so deep though. why it sucks though i don't know cause this sequel was about of 15-30 min as per plot but it got dragged out for non sense reason and 2019 joker was 10/10. so it beat me how come this is worst movie in a 5 year or so.

They get what they deserve for trying to mislead the audience (Todd Phillips and Lady Gaga specifically) for this obvious musical. Also, as a musical, the songs don't progress the story and just stop the flow of the movie. The most blatant money grab attempt in cinema history.

People are not tired of the Joker. This movie was just bad. Awful movie and awful musical. D and W was entertaining. Joker 2 was boring and way too long. It would’ve done good if they had continued the natural evolution of Joker and his mental illness/madness.

One thing these critics didn't talk about much was the fact queen basically played joker, and at the end we found out he wasn't the real joker which was cool. Really sad character, not the best movie because the audience really have to use their brain.

LADY GAGA went wrong she does not share anything with HQ other than hair colour horrible casting choice then they try and play into GAGAs only quality as a performer by making the film a weird musical then wonder why your out 100 milly

I don't think you can have enough Joker to be honest, I will grin and bear it tomorrow afternoon (Thursday) as I loved the first movie and I think it's bold of Todd Phillips to make this film into more of a musical and make my own mind up

If u had a Brother that was an incredible Actor, And Tragically passes away, Then u follow up as an Actor, Ur mission should be to keep that family legacy alive, Phoenix dropped the ball with Joker 2.

I can accept the singing,
I can accept the dancing,
I can accept the absence of a plot
I CAN NOT accept such an anti climactic ending that screams (we didn't know how to end this)

I still traumatized yo. I even said a bad word during the movie when the two sings (again and again, and many of the audiences too. Some even left before the movie ends. It was that bad.

I'm not tired of the Joker Im still waiting for one that's actually comic or action figure accurate. The second I heard Lady Gaga was Harley and not the I Tonya actress, I had no interest.
reply

people just cant accept that this movie hides so many psychological-sickness aspects of Arthur and the irony in his life, which have been imagined beautifully by the dialogues and plot.
