10 Ninja Movies You Need To Watch Before You Die
video description
And once you do watch some of the best Shaw Bros films, you won't want to watch the slow extremely basic choreography of the Americanized modern martial arts films at all. The worst Americanized martial arts films have the super-annoying one hit camera angle, where every individual hit of a fight is filmed at near extreme close-up distances, and they change the camera angle after each hit.
Everything Gordon Lieu ever made is worth watching.
I would pick Revenge of the Ninja AND Enter the Ninja over Ninja 3 The Domination as far as that trilogy goes, and I would put Pray For Death after Ninja 3. BTW, Sho Kosugi's real sons were in Revenge of the Ninja (Kane and Shane, and they've been doing pretty good on their own in the movie business now that they're all grown up.
I would definitely pick American Ninja 1 over the campier sequels.

The first 2 on this list and the last one aren't really Ninja movies. If anything they're Kung Fu movies.
Others that should be on this list: The Hunted, The Last Ninja (TV movie) Ninja Scroll, Wrath of the Ninja (both Anime movies, Basilisk the Koga Ninja Scrolls (Anime tv series. The Master (1984 tv series with Sho Kosugi, Shinobi Heart Under Blade and the other Shinobi movies in the series, Ninja 1 and 2 with Scott Adkins, Mask of the Ninja, Raven (1992 tv Series, Son of Batman and the recently released Batman Ninja.
The only 2 American Ninja movies that are worth watching are 1 and 2. Because 3 and 4 are bland and 5 is ridiculous and a complete waste of time.
Enter the Ninja and Revenge of the Ninja are both worth watching and an interesting note on Pray for Death: The guy who wrote the screenplay for that movie also played the main villain in the film.

i don't want to sound racist! but why are all but a handfull of the ninja in these movies. white americans whit really bad acting skills?
how about a way better ninja movie, with maybe real shinobi or shinto taijitsu ryu students, and show the struggles the ninja had furring the reign of the feudal lords, rather than portray them as farsical bumbling idiots with no real skill.
just saying.
the only movie that actualy came close to shiwing the skill of the ninja was batman darknight. which was about again an american actor with ninja training who understand nothing of the origins of ninjutsu other than people buy it up like hot cakes.

There are no good ninja films bcoz ninjas were very much secret and they came to outside world very less snd always spend their years hiding they don't want anyone to see them and to know their identity they are the hidden warriors so the world still know less about them so very less good films came Ninja assasins is good one. and yes there may be ninjas living in Japan but very less 2 ninjas had reveaked themselves and said they want to will be the last ninja ever lived and since ninjas practise goes from father to son so may be there are some ninjas living but still Ninjas are very secret and mysterious

There was a Ninja movie that I watched in 2010 I think about 2 Ninja villages in hard times, who were rivals for assassination jobs and the two main characters were in love with each other even though it was forbidden. I didn't really watch it completely and I want to re-watch it, but I can't remember the name.
Does someone on here know which movie I'm referring to? It came out around the time of Ninja Assassin.

I've yet to see a ninja movie that depicts shinobi no mono/samurai as well as the 60s movies from Nihon. The first several were kung fu movies exploiting the ninja craze to stay relevant. Then we have the american ninja craze movies I grew up watching which are junk. I would however give Ninja Assassin a chance.

I can't believe this is the most ridicules movies ever, what a waste. That is the primary reason why no one's like ninja movies anymore has any body ever seen a real ninja movie like hong kil dong made in Korea in 1986. Now that's what a real nija should be like.

The last two are probably my preference. But Mumon the Land of Stealth should be on this list. Techniques may be fictional but the timeline is correct. I would also recommend The Last Samurai. I cant think of any good ninja and samurai movies from here.
