He wanted to get revenge on Tony for what Howard Stark did to his father!
He showed how smart and driven he was by reverse engineering the old room sized ark reactor plans into a chest sized one just like Tony's!
And then he made his own modifications!
Yes the energy whips were not as long range as the repulser rays but they could defect them!
And are we going to forget that he was strong enough to grab and throw a man in an Iron suit
when he was not wearing one?
In my opinion, the only mistakes here were not giving him enough time to develop and killing him off!

Iron Man as a character is probably the most exciting Avenger. Movie wise however the Captain America trilogy is really well balanced and well written. From Captain America: The First Avenger, Winter Soldier then Civil War you see this clear story line developing between Cap and Bucky that is personal but has way far reaching consequences to the entire MCU dynamics. Iron Man movies seem to exist outside the MCU, he fights these villains: like his business partner; then a business rival & a yo-dad-screwed-my-dad-baddie; then another spurned business/love rival (pretending to be the Mandarin. Iron Man and Hulk work best paired with another Marvel character.

Iron Man as a character is probably the most exciting Avenger. Movie wise however the Captain America trilogy is really well balanced and well written. From Captain America: The First Avenger, Winter Soldier then Civil War you see this clear story line developing between Cap and Bucky that is personal but has way far reaching consequences to the entire MCU dynamics. This is one of my favorite movies. Right up there with the Dark Knight and Logan. Its darker than the others. It shows tony starks alcoholism and it showed the broken relationship between his father in a way that wasn't silly. For me, it was the last good movie where Robert Downey Jr didnt seem so fake. I loved the villain too. And the one quote that the game when Tony went to visit him is one of the best quotes out there.
If you could make God bleed than people would seise to believe in him. Then there will blood in the water and the sharks will come.

In hindsight, nowadays the CA shield moment makes more sense. In Civil War it turns out that Tony's dad always talked about him, making Tony rather annoyed about the notion of Captain America being Little Goody Two-Shoes, towards the point of jealousy and hatred over the years, so Tony not caring about the fact that he has a prototype of the shield and using it simply just to level out the energy conduit makes sense. After all, he hates everything about Cap, and the symbolism he represents.

I actually really like Iron Man 2, it did a great job at developing Tony Stark as a character and also it developed characters such as nick fury, black widow, and war machine. It pretty much set up the first Avengers movie. It wasn't perfect, but its by no means terrible. If any movie almost derailed the cinematic universe, it was iron man 3, the whole thing with the mandarin just screwed up the movie, which was highly anticipated considering that it was right after the avengers.

I actually really like Iron Man 2, it did a great job at developing Tony Stark as a character and also it developed characters such as nick fury, black widow, and war machine. I disagree with most of what was said in this video. Iron Man 2 wasn't great but it was still a solid movie, and it was far better than the garbage they call Iron Man 3. Iron man 3 in my estimation is the worst MCU movie so far. Iron Man 3 should have really been titled Tony Stark 1. The story was dumb, the pace of the movie was slow and boring, and the direction was horrible. Iron Man 2 was a good but not great, entertaining film.

honestly iron man 2 was what it needed to be not to serious but still a journey for stark the one that almost de railed the series was iron ma 3 just about every aspect of that movie has been retconed it is to me the worst marvel movie in the series and the only i even watched it was because it had iron man in it. after it was done it forced other movies to rush answers for questions that did not need to be asked

Iron man 2 was awful.
Lets hope the best realised characters, the guardians of the galaxy, dont get wrecked by Infinity war. If we end up with Iron Man saving the day it will end the MCU. It needs to be a combination of the group, but as the Guardians already know Thanos and have actually had direct contact with him, they should be key to the whole thing.

Tbh the first 2 iron man movies were so much funnier than the actual avengers movies with the exception of infinity war the part with star lord and thor was too funny and of course guardians 1 is funny
