The Most Expensive TV Flops In History
video description
The sequels for Sin City and 300. I mean, the simple fact of those movies being what they are already make them bad. Then there was that Polanski movie, which everyone expected to be good because, its Polanski. but turned out it was trash, so she worked with a pedo for nothing.
Penny Dreadful was good, very good, but not a hit and got cancelled with a rushed and crappy ending - I know that ending wasn't planned, despite what the creator says. Now she is Tim Burton's new muse - when he is tired, defased and nobody cares for him anymore.
We know how talented and cool she is, but she is always starring on things that are most likely to flop. I wish we could see her on better films and series, because she honestly deserves it. I mean, when you are EVA GREEN and one of your best rated movies is a James Bond one, something is wrong - (Casino Royale is a great film, but it doesn't requires from her the level of acting she can delivers.
I mean, I can't understand how Jennifer Lawrence has a better filmography than hers.

Mr
i'm off to google supertrain - it seemed ok from the clips! I wonder if it was on tv in japan - they have very fast trains like that
(edit)
ok i did that - Wikipedia;
Though it had a rated top speed of 250 mph (402. 34 km/h, and cruised at 190 mph (305. 78 km/h, the train took 36 hours to go from New York City to Los Angeles; this would put the train's average speed at around 80 mph (128. 75 km/h, slower than that of Amtrak's Acela Express and well below the speeds of bullet trains in Europe and Asia. (Some episodes state, however, that the train also stops in Chicago, Denver, a fictitious town in Texas and presumably other cities, which would extend the length of the run and thus would require faster speeds.
so geography was a strong point of the producers! this route order would be best anyway - LA, Denver, Texas, Chicago, New York

You might want to do a little more research. Battlestar Galatica was not a Star wars ripoff. The show was actually pitch back in the 1960's, under the name Adam's Ark, but never got any movement. After the success of Star Wars, and some retooling, such as Adam become Addama, ABC want to cash in on the Star Wars excitement at the time. So it was not a ripoff.
And CBS made a version of a BBC series, which was it self a version of an American series Cop Rocks.

Did any of the producers or directors bother to do the math on Supertrain? The distance from NYC to LA is roughly 2745 miles following alongside a couple of Interstates. At 200 mph, that ride is about 13. 7 hours. Less than Amtrak; far less than the bus, but you can fly there in half that time, drive to Las Vegas and gamble and drink all you want. Or, better yet, just fly from NYC to Las Vegas and save yourself the drive.

Camelot was close to being a great TV show. It had one glaring downfall: Jamie Campbell Bower. Nobody wanted to watch a snivelling, callow King Arthur.
Marco Polo was, without question, one of the best shows, ever. Its only downfall was being on a streaming service. If it were on HBO, it would still be airing and Game of Thrones would've been cancelled a couple of years ago.

Camelot had one major problem. the actor that played King Author. Somebody might have cast their boyfriend for the part. He was totally not right for the part. It was unfortunate because the story line and Eva Green were great. Just saying. looks like someone would learn to cast someone who is totally wrong for the part. He needed to be a little older and more masculine.

Battlestar Galactica did great in the ratings, but it was expensive for the ad revenue they were taking in. The Network decided to gut the show to make Galactica 80 (to save on cast and special effects expenses) by losing most of the first season cast and having little to do with the actual space aspect of the show. THEN it tanked.

I tried watching Camelit, but was turned away after less then 2 minutes! It has nothing to do with the Arthurian Legend, is historic inaccurate, cheap on the Fantasy-Level and put together so many cliches within the two minutes I saw that things could only get worse! Sorry for the very good cast, but this was just plain bull. t.

I watched the original Battlestar Galactica as well as the terrible 1980 revival attempt (even had some BSG toys and trading cards back in the day. I think I saw the premier of Supertrain but don't remember much beyond that. Camelot had a good cast even if the writing was sometimes a little uneven.

I always admire when the TV biz is willing to take a big risk. A mega expensive scifi show in the 70's? A show about a supertrain? A casino musical show? Even if some of them looked more watchable than others, it's nice to see an idea other than another LAWYER or INVESTIGATION show.
