Iconic Movie Scenes That Were Filmed In Just One Take Neil: Here's something you Yanks might get a kick out of.
The Carry On Films, the iconic British Comedy ensemble film series was made with such a small budget that there was no wiggle room for mistakes.
A Film Industry myth was that generally if they couldn't get a take right first time they abandoned the scene entirely and went onto the next.
Because the budget and film schedule were so tight I actually believe this was the case most of the time.
They sometimes wrote the scripts 2 to 3 times longer than they needed to for this very reason.

I love the fantastic amount of planning that goes into an uninterrupted take. The Russian Ark, which must have taken a massive amount of planning, and is perhaps the leading light of its genre. Back in the early B&W era, it was the Dutch that had sweeping crane shots that spanned a long walk through the set. Good stuff to me.

Ong Bak was amazing. Not only that insanely long one-shot fight scene but the way all fights looked real. You could see the power Tony Yaa put into the kicks and punches by how opponents fly around: )
What a gem that movie is!

Jennifer Lawrence's juju scene from Silver Linings Playbook should be on here as well. It was also one take scene.
Haven't seen an actor (male/female) ever steal a scene from a legend before. Made me a J-Law fan for life.

I'm sorry Looper but you lose brownie points for me, what about that Black Panther casino scene with Okoye, Nakia, T'Challa & Claw? Ryan Coogler did a scene explanation on it on Vanity Fair?

Wasn't the Children of Men one actually multiple takes spliced together with CGI to give the illusion of a single take?
. there were lots of such scenes in the movie, not just the car scene.

I'm glad you included The Protector. That's the one I though of when I read the title. FYI- The fight scene in The Black Panther at the night club is another one. Brilliant!

the protector was the besttttt. Rza and Quentin helped Muay thai and thai stars become mainstream. I started muay thai cause of this movie. Same with Ong-bak

I never understood why they make such a big deal about something filmed in one take? Honestly, who cares and more importantly, who would notice?

I thought the Creed fight was multiple takes made to look like one, hence them seemingly gaining bloody noses etc through it.
