The Worst Sci-Fi Movies Ever Made
video description
Laserblast also had a pretty decent STORY, .. it was just poorly EXECUTED is all. With a better DIRECTOR that movie could've been cool.
And I frankly don't give a shit WHAT has been on MST3K - THAT means NOTHING to ME.

Passengers was a great movies, what people ignored was that was the turmoil that Jim went through agonizing over being alone and whether he should actually wake up Aurora, which he knew was wrong, but when you spend a year alone, you really lose rational thought.
They also missed that in the end that is WAS the right decision to wake Aurora, because without two people the ship itself would have been destroyed losing many more than 2 lives on the journey.
About the forgiveness part, would you rather spend the rest of your life mad at somebody and not interact with them, nor anybody else, or come to terms with your situation, and live a life with someone that can be enjoyable?

I was part of a focus group that got to watch part of HOWARD THE DUCK prior to its release, to get some initial feedback. As I recall, we all felt it would bomb big time and that it simply looked bad on screen. But at least it featured Jeffrey Jones. And you're right - the only redeeming feature of LASERBLAST (I have the DVD) is the stop-motion aliens. Kim Milford (the geek with the weapon) sadly died at age 37 from heart problems. Roddy McDowell shows up for about five minutes, also.

Passengers is just mediocre and I could list hundreds of worse, big budget skiffy films without thinking. As someone else pointed out, Battlefield Earth stank up the screen but what about The Adventures of Pluto Nash? The Postman? Red Planet and Mission To Mars (little to choose between them, Mars Needs Moms, Stealth, Lost In Space, . I haven't got time to list all the films that deserve to be on this list. Passengers isn't one of them.

An alternative list would be
Battlefield Earth (no contest)
After Earth ( a close second)
Plan 9 from Outer Space (so bad it is almost good)
Megaforce
Batman & Robin
Transformers 4 (or 3 or 5)
Battle for Skyark (just incredibly dull and cheap)
Barb Wire (if it counts as Scifi)
Lawnmower Man 2 (first one was pretty good but the sequel was unwatchable)

Howard the dud was made to lose money. Lucasfilm was rolling in money, and therefore taxes according to a couple friends who worked for them. Howard was brought in to alleviate some of that problem. My mom insisted on me taking her to see it back then, it was as bad as it looked. by the way, using San Francisco to stand in for Cleveland was only part of the problem.

And here we go again. You rate a movie as bad because of a plot point you didn't like. The movie is great and well written. It's about forgiveness and moving on, something our messed up society can't grasp. You can NOT rate a movie as bad just because something you didn't like happened. It doesn't come close to belonging on this list with the other stinkers. Get a life.
