The Real Reason Thor Doesn't See Jane Foster Anymore

Portman had just won the oscar for best actress for Black Swan just 2 years prior to Thor: Dark World, had a newborn son she was eager to spend time with, actually wanted to take a break from the industry but delayed her plans from doing so specifically because she was interested/excited to work with the director of Dark World. Director got canned, and with it Portman's motivation to stay in the project, refused to do reshoots and Jane Foster was subsequently written out of the MCU.
Now, Portman is kinda kicking herself for it as she's stated she wouldn't mind returning, but there's literally no place for her character in the universe anymore as Thor has moved on to bigger and better things.

Uhh, butbut but its Natalie Portman. Sure sure, hes purty- but hes no Natalie Portman. Bust a rap, man -can you even. Arent there some hints shell be Thors equal Then well see sparks fly. Then again, purty as he is, maybe some feisty Godess would be an even better. the mind tantalizes in feverish anticipation. Or is that fevers in tantalizing sleepless nights. Natalie herself once said Why would you cut out half the population? I Dont imagine Pence would get his panties in too much of a bunch but perhaps I protesteth too much? Honestly, Valkyrie should not be with Thor. They completely don't go together, and sure, they managed to get along okay at the end, but seriously? They just don't fit. Besides, they barely get along. She was a fine character, but in my opinion, she should not be a love interest for Thor. Also, I think Jane is a rather downplayed character. Like, maybe she's not the best, but people seriously need to stop bashing her. She's not that bad.

I could picture Jane working closely with Fury and Agent Hill, even if she wasn't romantically involved with Thor. She was seriously my favorite, and, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think she might be the first human in the franchise to travel off world (you could count Ironman, but he didn't really go anywhere expect open space, and he floated right back through the portal in seconds.

I may be in the minority here but I really liked Jane Foster. I thought she added a lot to the first two Thor films and third one struggled partly due to her absence. I doubt she'll ever play a major role in the MCU again as the Thor movies are probably done but I wouldn't mind seeing her make another appearance at some point and maybe get back together with Thor.

WOW, are you dense. The relationship between Natalie Portman an Chris Hemsworth, Makes the movie more human relatable, you take her out then there's no human connection. Meaning I'm human what do you want to just have all of the characters be aliens, you better get rid of iron man cause he's human under the suite.

The true reason is that Portman doesn't like the fantasy movie, despite her character is very loveable and important and cool to the plot but because she feel her character was reduced to a love interest she isn't very fond to return any time soon. The same thing happened with star wars.

Her character was nice and it made Thor more human but. the writers never really gave them any romantic plot. They just were. for no reason. So of course no one missed her. if they add her back, hopefully there'll actually be a legit romance this time. if not, than don't bother.
