Two ideas - one which may be a complete coincidence and the other that may be a throw- away liine.
1/ The symbol of Minos closely resembles the symbol of another Pagan religion. It looks like a Valknut which represents the 9 worlds of Viking mythology. I thought that was what was going on for the first two rooms; fire from Muspelheim and ice for Jotunheim. It didn't work beyond that point.
2/ The security guard, who is the only representative of Minos that the six players meet, says Thank you for your service. This reminded me a lot of the cult running The Cabin in the Woods. Like I said, this could just be a throw-away.

there is a alternate ending where Zoey goes to her school class and after one clue she finds 10 000 - the winning price so it sounds like her Professor and maybe the roomate (Stewardes from the ending scenes with people on a plane) could be involve in this or it's just an coincidence. Srry for my English

After watching Escape Room and Bird Box, I've come to the conclusion that I will never watch another movie where the ending has to be explained. If the writing and director can't do it during the damn movie, why should I bother wasting more of my time listening to YouTubers having deep thoughts about it?

so, trapped in a place where you can only get out if you figure out how, people eventually die and when you escape form a room you are in another. um this sounds familiar, i mean is not exactly the same but cube is like that isn't it?

the shadowy figure is zoey's teacher. As the figure said in the end that zoey finally decided to take on something she feared which was taking the plane. At the start of the movie the teacher did say that too.

The movie started off strong and went downhill on they were in the hospital room. The teaser was unnecessary at the end. I liked the movie but the second half of the movie should have been done differently

I thought this movie was awful. I was bored and the mediocre end left little to be desired. This film will not see the light of day of a sequel. If it does it will be a direct to video.
