Watch This Before You See the New Pet Sematary Remake
video description
Women get drawn into the horror tangentially but they are not directly involved or responsible.
It's odd to me that Hollywood seems to think that the only acceptable relationship between a father and child is between a dad and his daughter there are few loving relationships between men and their sons onscreen, only 'The Road' and 'The Walking Dead' are memorable. But what's most heart-rending and horrible about the book is Louis's grief at Gage's death, and Gage's extreme innocence and vulnerability. The problem isn't just that Ellie is a girl but that she is too old to be fully and totally pure in the baby sense, so it's just not as awful when she is corrupted and soiled. She's just another creepy girl, like Samara or Regan.

Ellie was the first choice to begin with. The only reason it was changed is because King thought having a baby would be that more horrifying. So I guess the only change would be Ellie as the twist. HMM. It does seem interesting. I hope this is good! The last remake I saw was IT and that was total shit. The original Mini series was a way better adaptation. No offence to the young ones that thought it was better but I beg to differ. Stephen King is the MASTER when it comes to horror and the remake was way more predictable than any other remake I've ever seen. When you remake films time and time again you gotta make it interesting for the viewer as to what they've never seen or didn't expect.

The marker for films falling short, or failing to live up to the novels they are based on was set long ago. perhaps on the very first screen adaptation. The reason for this is the preconceived expectations the reader brings into a film. How a character looked or sounded to them. the way the general concept of the novel, story unfolds. Every possible nuance, environment and character has long been digested by the reader. Even if a movie is clinically faithful to every detail of a novel it can never hope to achieve or duplicate the incalculable individual experiences that already exist in the minds eye of the reader. then again, some movies are just bad. lol.

The only problem I see with the new Pet Sematary is the fans of the old Pet Sematary have already made up their minds not to like it. I know that they will nitpick this movie to death and not go into it with the proper mind frame to enjoy it. I liked it. As far as modern day horror films, I think it is one of the better ones. Is it a classic? I wouldn't say all of that but it is a decent addition to the horror genre and doesn't take anything away from the original. I didn't leave the theater saying to myself, They really screwed that up.

The remake might be terrifying indeed, but how about the touch of honest dread and misery of having your innocent little one dead? I believe it's the real horror of the film--what people sometimes decide to do because they couldn't cope up with the reality of losing their precious--I think that what sets the original adaptation apart from the remake.
But I don't have anything against the new one

I've never seen a remake of old horror movies I've liked. I haven't watched the Pet Sematary remake yet so we'll see? I absolutely love the original so it's going to have to be amazing to change my mind. A redo of Cujo would be interesting actually considering today's graphics. Cujo was absolutely amazing considering the year it was made so having it remade today might make it even more creepier.

I was okay with the changes. accepting that a shot-by-shot re-shoot would have been a waste of time and effort. Yes, the events of the final scene were in many ways darker and more twisted than the original. But, I felt those events were too rushed. One after the other in rapid succession. It took the shock and sting away. I thought there could have been more development there.

This was always one of my favourite Stephen king movies, so when I heard of the remake I knew I had to see it, but I chose not to watch any trailers, I had my heart prepared for Gages death, although I did notice through the film they show you Elie a lot more and get you attached to her, so when it was her who gets hit, I was shocked by it, but I liked that twist,

That's what made Pet Sematary so horrific was the fact that it was his toddler son who passed away, a passing of a child's a horrible thing either way; however it was just made that much worse being that the kid was a toddler. I think they should have stuck with the original story. As a longtime Stephen King book reader, I'm already disappointed with this movie.

Lie, they changed it from guage to the girl because of the Mary Sue program. There doing it in all movies replacing male rolls with female rolls. Come on Already women. Make up something new and quit copying what men do. And thinking your as equal or even more equal than creating something out of nothing like men naturally do.
