I think he means the night king. The way this story has moved forward, night king maintained his distance from seven kingdoms till now. Why?
I think Bran and Night king know each other. While time travelling Bran has done or will do some shit travelling back that will affect night king in a way that he is waiting for Bran to be born so that he can go and meet him. Winter fell crypts will probably be their meeting place and I am certain now that night king is a stark of old times. Bran being the three eyed raven couldnt care less about Jamie cos he is not affecting past in any way. Like Bran always says that he is not Bran any more the why should be bother about people who had a role in Brans story?

Isn't the spot he's sitting in the place he first saw the three-eyed raven bird in the first season in a greensight bit and in season six where the three-eyed raven was sliced into a black cloud during another greensight bit.
That can't be a coincidence.
In that moment I think he mean't 'an old friend' of Jon's but it's also foreshadowing he will encounter Hodor again. Will he be capable of Warging him, I don't know, but I think it's a bullet Theon will inevitably take for him. Bran is too important.
I think the Night King is destroying Weirwoods, that's his purpose to serve the goal of liberating his people from a system of control.

The night king is coming to winterfell, what if bran is waiting for the night king? In the trailer, we see arya running through winterfell covered in blood with needle. That implies the white walkers invade winterfell with all the Starks still there. What if those line where you belong are truly for the night king, who is also a Stark. A little side note, look back at the times the night king never killed jon snow, only observed him with interest. This is a janky theory, because then that would mean bran was left to die or refused to go from his spot. Then again, I can see it happening because bran is technically a cheat sheet on how to win.

It was Jaime. Bran has most likely seen Jaime's past (killing the Mad King to save millions, etc) and knows that he is truly a good person. He also probably believes that he had to become a cripple to become the Three-Eyed Raven. So, in a weird way, he says Jaime as an old friend because of these reasons and because time is relative to Bran. Thus, next episode is going to be epic because it is very likely that the one who saves Jaime is Bran! Which is why Jaime looks at him in disbelief in the preview.

The next fan theory that has everybody talking is Arya put Needle into its holster with her left hand while normally she would do that with her right hand. What does it mean? Is she a clone of Arya that came out wrong? Did a magic spell alter her brain? Or are we just looking too far into every damn detail hoping we will mine something interesting because our days are so meaningless that anything to kill the pain of boredom helps. on the next Looper.

This theory is ridiculous. So the entire trailer is about some character that isnt even like one of the main players. What world are they living in? And why would he be spoken about by bran in a trailer? Its not his frigging life story. Not like hes sitting in his castle watching the episodes.

Two things that don't fit this theory
1. We don't see theon in the preview for the next episode, anywhere in Winterfell.
2. After Jaime comes, we see all of them in the big hall discussing what should be done with Jaime. Bran is there too. If he was waiting for theon, shouldn't he still be in the court yard. waiting. Since he waited through the whole night for the said 'old-friend'

It's kinda weird that this is even on debate. It was clearly Jaime. The show showed us. Bran waited up all night for Jaime. Yeh I'm sure he's going to just nod to Jaime and keep waiting for Theon, who is ultimately less important and contentious. (that was sarcasm in case you missed it.
