We Finally Understand The Incredible Hulk MCU Trilogy XxsteamerxX: The fact that The Hulk is a gamma magnet (Banner/Hulk knows this) and the stones largely emit gamma radiation, SHOULD mean that Hulk should have absorbed that energy without his arm atrophying. Which is why he said he was made for it. At the very least it should have thrown off the balance he struck with the 18 months of gamma bombardment and caused the rage machine to re emerge. We would have liked that even more.
I swear movie execs like knowing about each reaction to what makes a movie bad. Incredible Hulk didn't bomb because Hulk can't carry a solo movie. It bombed because it was a bad script and had Ed Norton juice (over intensity) all over it. If we got a Hulk movie like what we saw in his Avengers appearances. Or say I don't know, let Ragnorok be a Thor movie and gave us a PROPER planet Hulk movie with either Beta Ray Bill or Silver Surfer we would have LOVED that. That could have been the trilogy, planet Hulk in 2 parts with World War Hulk being the finale after Thanos. It would also have been a good way to end the first phase of characters because he essentially destroys all of them.

I completely agree that the Hulk that we see in the Incredible Hulk is different than Ruffalo's Hulk, but I don't necessarily see that as a total retcon of the character. The way I see it is that, over the course of time between the Incredible Hulk and The Avengers, Banner went through a rough isolation period. For all we know, he practically cut himself off from society for the vast majority of that two year period (because TIH takes place in 2010, but regardless time period does not matter here. He even explains that in Avengers. When he finally came back around, he relearned that being in isolation didn't allow him to learn how to control it when he is in an environment where he can't really control the situation himself. I mean think about it, he didn't need to be afraid about letting the Hulk loose in a cabin in the woods. In a village, let alone a city, that's a different story. Of COURSE he was depressed before Avengers. The only difference between Norton's Hulk and Ruffalo's Hulk is that he learned to be more humorous.

I never got the hate for the first hulk movie, his comics are serious, his character is a serious one because Banner has to be in control. Just because it wasn't funny and a movie that wasn't making everyone laugh doesn't mean it wasn't good. After watching Ang Lee's Hulk, I thought it was a very smart move (after just 5 years) not to focus on a origin backstory and the did show it in the beginning but didn't focus on it. What they did to the Hulk after the movie was bad, Bruce and Natasha romance, Hulk made into comedic purposes and absolutely useless in Infinity War and Endgame. Ragnorok was probably his best version since the solo film. Endgame Hulk was just cringey to watch and there was no reason to even have a professor Hulk, it was just Banner and no Hulk.

Hulk got to do the snap which brought the dusted back, so there's that at least. But the maddest he got in Endgame was tossing a bench in the wake of Black Widow's death, and we never got to see him have a rematch with Thanos, which is a travesty. If you cut through the three-arc storyline bull that the Russos hyped up dating back to Thor: Ragnarok, it really boiled down to getting Mark Ruffalo more facetime (even if partly digital. Sorry, but a wisecracking Shrek wannabe who didn't even have a moment doing what Hulk does best (SMASH) during the entirety of the culmination of the Avengers saga was a Fox/Fantastic Four-level mishandling of the character and really hurt Endgame in hindsight, at least for me.

I wouldn't categorize Banner's relationship with Hulk as having been 'retconned' from Norton's portrayal in Avengers. At the end of The Incredible Hulk, Bruce demonstrates that his attempts to suppress the Hulk has given him the internal harmony to bring out the Hulk at will. In Avengers, we find out that that internal harmony manifests as always angry.
Also, Hulk is a difficult character to write for considering he is often the monster/villain in his own stories and Bruce is the poor slob who has to mitigate/clean up after/direct Hulk's destructiveness. It's almost a blessing that Marvel has no obligation to make a solo Hulk film.

Just give hulk a sequel! I want one the fans want one and I guarantee the audience wants one too! After hulk 2003 which soured the audience general perception of the hulk, The Incredible Hulk came around and did not do well because of Hulk 2003. Even though, most people were generally pleased and began to form a new perception of the Hulk. Then the Avengers came and everyone loved him, the same success came for the rest of his appearances that followed. I know for a fact people will come to see it. The worst itll do is prolly the same success as Iron Man just make the movie and screw universal or work out a deal

Has anyone noticed that the Hulk seemed more buffed in the earlier movies. His veins stuck out his muscles were more defined. He just seemed more powerful looking in The Incredible Hulk. Maybe you should do a video on the body change of the hulk in Edward Norton's hulk and Mark Ruffalo, s hulk. Marks Hulk looks more lazy and less buffed. I don't know about you but I like the latest Hulk, but I don't love him. Bring Back Edward Norton's version bulging muscles, veins sticking out That's the Hulk I know and Love. Keep his face but Buff him up more. Dudes He looks borderline fat.

Well it completely ruined the movie for me! Fans were expecting World Breaker or at least a version with the eyes glowing green or something. It should have been Hulk matching Thanos in one on one, not Captain Marvel! Comes the big finale, we get Rune King Thor(fat but still, Nanotech Ironman, Capt wielding Mjolnir, everybody reaching their full potential. Instead of a stronger version of the Hulk we get mcu's professor hulk aka NO HULK aka BANNER ON STEROIDS aka BENCH THROWER. He loses his loved one and in his rage he throws a bench up in the air! What a SHAME!

The 2008 Hulk movie was ten times better than Captain Marvel. The 2008 film didn't skip over his origin. His origin was told in the opening credits. The end of the 2008 film also wasn't retconned by Avengers, since Avengers clearly shows that Banner CAN change into the Hulk at will. That version of the Hulk in Endgame was also NOT the Professor Hulk. The Endgame Hulk most closely resembles the Banner Hulk from the Bill Mantlo run on the comic in the early 80s. This video was severely unresearched.

Ultimately it's all about the writing, if you want a strong alpha male hulk then you right him that way if not then you make him Mr Rogers. It seems that MCU only like alpha males as bad guys or jerks not heroes. The hulk could have been like world breaker hulk have intelligence but remain hulk, what we saw was banner in green skin. I also did not like how professor hulk was embarrassed of his 2012 version from avengers 1, that is what hulk fans love about him it was insulting to hulks character.
