The Game of Thrones Series Finale Ending Explained Varion: Jon Snow is an absolutely disgusting character, he is a backstabber, he betrayed the nightswatch, his first love and then finally Daenerys in a two-faced, intrigant and manipulating manner. He used her love for him against her. He has no consistent morals. He is a coward.
And he is full of self-pity with is almost constantly miserable look on his face. He has never processed being (treated as) a bastard.

There is always reference to world history, particularly the way how the west dominated the world. The whole GoT series is akin to how Europe was engulfed by plague, famines and war. In the end, they were able to found an alternative way to raise Kings/Queens. No longer a birthright and a divine one, but that which is chosen by the people who know best. Isnt that like republicanism? And this ending, where Arya sets further westward feels a lot like Columbus founding the new world for Europe. Arya founding a new world for Westeros. Much like renaissance x French Revolution (bastille style. I can only imagine stories from Arya in her old age governing settlements in that part west of Westeros establishing ties as well with it, particularly with the North. Judging how UKs history went by, the whole of Westeros probably wont break up ever again. The North, in a sense is like Ireland, and whatever land Arya sees would be the Americas. Drogon, probably flies further east. Highly relevant to how Westeros achieved its enlightenment and break from tyrannical rule of families who drive by birthright. Dany is dead, but will be a forgotten figure only Drogon can live by. I think he will eventually end up in Ashai and where people surely know what happened. And I think Ashai is Asia. Far East, holds much history the world has yet to know. And Further into this story, Ashai is probably closest to west of Westeros than we might think, and could probably be, ironically the land further west coming full circle. And Arya sees it for herself.
As for Jon, hes welcome to go back and forth I think. With Bran and Sansa sitting on thrones. The North is compassionate with the wildlings now. And what about Eastwatch? The sprouting grass probably is a foreshadowing that the wall will be in ruins or no use as the ice melts away gradually. The black will relax and just be a gate for whatever relationship will be. Bran will write a constitution setting reliable laws for everyone, and could someday abolish the monarchies all together. They will look east to Bravos and other cities that have no kings & queens for inspiration but will probably have cold relationships with the bay of dragons for killing their heroine-Dany.

The actual ending of the whole saga is indeed the most logical and positive outcome. The empire that Danny and Jon would have ruled together is dead. Countries of the world are now independent and free to rule themselves. A sensitive and well informed man who through enormous suffering has gained insight, historical perspective & wisdom is ruling over the survivors of endless wars, cruelty and despair. I can hardly see why some people are complaining about such a just ending. Ambitious, spoilt Sansa learns to care about others and becomes perhaps a just and benevolent ruler. Arya lets her wild heart dictate and goes to find a new world with perhaps better people in it and maybe lands on Iceland. And Jon Snow has already known the better people for a long time, the wildings and goes into the beautiful, fresh and pristine wilderness with them. When you look closely none of the surviving top characters is MARRIED which to me is perfectly noticeable. Married people have always served ONE function, making children in their castles and create dynasties. This brave new world leaders are not into dynasty making. They don't have families therefore they don't put the interests of THEIR family above everyone else's. These new rulers are the antithesis of Cersei, the selfish, self aggrandising Feminist imperialist, the queen of Westrus who gets there through deceit, conceit and utter terror. Our new leaders are benevolent and care for their people. PERFECT ENDING & the only acceptable ending if you have truly understood the message of the author.

I haven't heard anyone talk about this so far, I know no one asked but let me explain who I think won GOT.
No one won.
The show title is Game of Thrones right? The throne was melted by Drogon. Obviously Drogon melted it because everyone that had ever sat on it (in the show) died because of the overwhelming power it gave them. Think about it Aerys, Robbert, Joffrey, Tommen, Cersei and Daenerys, all dead, and what do they share in common, they all sat on the throne. The wheel Danny talked about breaking can't be broken so perhaps Drogon melted the throne to make sure it stops spinning, as no one can sit on it anymore. Bran became king but didn't win, like Meera said He died a long time ago in that cave. So you could argue the three eyed raven did, that's kind of true, but he always knew the whole time that he'd win the crown but not the throne.

Dany went Mad a little too quickly, she was killed implausibly, Jon Snow was spared implausibly, Bran was made king implausibly, Tyrion became Hand again implausibly, they all started blabbing about rebuilding brothels a few days after 100, 000 people were brutally genocided, and, and, aaand. Ah, whats the use, The writing and pacing sucked, it didnt make any sense, they ruined every single thing about Game of Thrones. But other than that. well, at least he pet Ghost. Okay, and now its over. Yecch.

It is such a PERFECT conclusion to GoT. D&D have done a brilliant job.
The conclusion laid a foundation to the the end of an era of royals & royalty & beginning of another era - democracy & the rule of law.
And who best to usher this in - Bran - the philosopher king & a broken one, who has neither the desire nor the capability to further his royal ambition through biological perpetuation.
And so begins the new world order.
My compliments to the writers.

It all went off theme in the last episode I never will watch this last season again as I own all the episodes accept last season
I now will not complete my collection
It felt rushed
disappointing and Incomplete
as as much as we did not give up on the Daenerys
All producers gave up on all of us
Yes everyone wants an happy ending
But how about just a fair expected one
The end

I really liked the final season because the show was always about two things the Starks family and the kingdom of westeros, the ending is about the rise of the Starks family taking control and the new order a new style of government over westeros as they said the new kings will be elected and chosen. So they are throwing away the old ways into a new and more hopefully world. I really liked it.

Last season of GoT was more realistic of life than the other seasons were. Human emotion of what the dragon lady did was what a human would do and the queen running getting stuck and dying from the rocks falling was very real like of what would happen. What people wanted was to fantasy than real. We go a lot of fantasy they injected some real at the end and congrats to them for that!
