Bravo' To all the actors (and crews) that went through freezing cold and searing heats, long hours of waiting and waiting in setting up shots, repeating scenes over and over again in grueling environments to produce this amazing 'Extended' story for all of us.
My God, I have produced workshops for 8 sessions over two months or just three days, where every detail is attended to, and setting the intention that students get miracles for themselves. And it was rewarding but exhausting! I'd have to take a week to just fully digest and recover. It's intense to produce a show of this magnitude!
1) they deserve every penny they earned! 2) and can we please have a shout out to Nina and Robert for their stellar casting! Every single one was perfect and they ALL became their characters! (And characters they just were, not real people. 3) also amazing costumes, locations, set design! 5Stars everywhere.
We fell in love with them all, a story, a celebration of society in lesser mature times. or was it? Seems it is horrifically current and may well be why we fell so hard for this story. A DNA, Ancestral tug for us all, and our maturity battles still prevail!
Time to grieve kiddies. time to absorb, rewatch episodes with new understanding, and enjoy the box set! Again and again. But letting go is a part of grieving. Time to have discussions of integration. How does this story effect you? What are the best parts for you? Who will you miss the most? Who are you most like? What do you want to keep in your heart? So many lovely moments, right! Integrations follows grief!
So let's accept what was written and shown in the final season and receive the best bits! Sign petitions for a better government in 2020!
Jon didn't want to be KING even though he'd of been benevolent! Severe pain of loss and betrayal can distort a mind to do crazy things. Emilia Clarke went through hell and back during these ten years and all keeping her adorable smile! Dragons can die with javelin arrows in them. But the pack survived; that look of Jamie seeing Bran in S8 (whoa, right! Have a photo of it); Cersei got her Karmic answer along with Jamie; Brienne and Jamie celebrating carnal love for one another; all of Jamie's looks that conveyed so much; Sansa, a girl no more emerges as a Queen and so ever beautiful; the just desserts for Little Finger/Joffrey/Ramsay.
The wondrous Arya (r-yah) getting the Night King and ending that battle! Whoa didn't expect that! Tyrion who survived so many incarnations, he did know things! And Jon Snow who would never fully be the same without his Ygritte! (Congratulations Rose and Kit)
And all the supporting roles too many to name. Mountain/Hound face off (no pun intended) imagine they won't miss their makeup sessions! ; Jason(we miss you, Nathalie, Rose, Alfie, John B, Richard, Michelle, Aidan, Sean, Jack, Conleth, Caprice, Kristofer, Liam, Iain, Jerome who throws Jamie into the river off horse back! Pedro, Indira, Vladimir as Night King in the end! Iwan one of the best villains ever, Hodor, Pilou, Jacob, Sir Charles and Dame Diana (Emma Peel.
Grieve and integrate and celebrate!

On some level, I do think the ending is partially at fault. I was expecting a different sequence of events. I think the wrong main character died at the end. As someone who wants to be a Novelist, here's how my plot line would have gone:
A) At some point throughout below, Jon reveals she is his aunt, and it creates some controversy between them. Although, Daenerys reveals she's deeply in love wiht him, and wants to rule by his side. He does not want to rule whatsoever.
1) Daenerys Targaryen and the North are attacked in a suprise attack by Cersei's armies.
2) The Targaryen Alliance marches on Kings Landing, and defeats Cersei in her armies (w/ much dialogue obvs)
3) The White Walkers arrive through the gate, and march on the North, as Westeros mobilizes its unified forces.
4) A genuinely epic battle ensues, as Jon and Daenerys clash with the Night King in the air. Arya, and other major cast members clash with the Night King's Generals, fighting bitterly in order to defeat them one-by-one.
5) Jon and Daenerys manage to bring the Night King's dragon down, or vice versa, bringing thier fight to the ground.
6) Jon Snow takes a fatal injury, and Daenerys becomes enraged, striking the Night King down personally.
7) Grief-stricken following a heartfelt funeral service/pyre for Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen returns to Kings Landing, where she finds her bitterly won victory leaves her feeling empty.
8) Realizing she loves Jon Snow more than she wants the Iron Throne, in a fit of sorrow and rage, she orders her dragon to Melt the throne. At which point, she marshals her armies, and leaves Westeros forever, abandoning her Queen-ship, and leaving it in the hands of a new Council; for them to elect their next monarch without her. All the rest remains the same. The North secedes, Westeros votes Bran into the Monarchy, etc etc.
9) Daenerys Targaryon returns to the East with her Khalasar and Unsullied, where she establishes a new Targaryen Dynasty that lasts 1, 000 years. She ushers in a new age for her people, establishing rigid structure, peace, and economic prosperity regardless of wealth and status. However, Daenerys Targaryen NEVER returns to Westeros ever again.
It honors Jon Snow / Aegon Targaryen, by giving him an honorable death where he dies defending the people he loves. It stays true to the rise of Deanerys Targaryen as someone with a destiny to save Westeros, to liberate it, and not simply to follow the same path as her ancestors. So I started watching GOT with my husband 3 weeks ago from beginning to end and we binged it as much as we could till we finished just 2 days ago. Let's be honest. the ending does NOT make sense and no one I know was satisfied with it. SO WHAT IF they come out with a season 9 and it starts off where Bran, Theon and the Greyjoys are under the tree waiting for the white walkers when Bran says something like I must go now and rolls his eyes to white.
WHAT IF Bran suddenly opens his eyes saying he's seen the future and what would unfold (recap end of season 8?
This would also make sense because up till this point, he has never been able to see the future. but I was thinking that the 3-eyed raven should be symbolic to past, present and future (3 eyes.
Here's some awesome ideas I gathered from others:
1. Daenerys to remain as the person the whole show built her up to be. which is good and different from her father. Possibly pregnant with Jon's child. and lives to rule in a humble way because of Jon's good influence and all the advisers she listened to and admired through ought the whole show (who died for NOTHING if she ended up being evil and dies.
2. Cersei get's assassinated by Arya. blue eyes.
3. The white walkers take over Winterfell and many escape to retreat to Kings Landing because the White walkers were supposed to be the main enemy and not Cersei.
4. Jon kills the night king at Kings Landing.
5. Jon dies to keep the drama alive -- which ends the tension of who the air is to the throne between him and Dany.
6. There can be a flash forward (5-10 yrs) to Jon's grave in the Winterfell crypt with Dany and their child paying respects.
There's more, but I'll leave it at that.
SO I know everyone may not like those ideas and some may be happy with how it ended. But I'm just curious what you guys think and how would/should the story pan with those points? I can imagine 1 to 3 more seasons with these ideas in mind! Yes, everything must come to an end. but many would say some characters deserved more. honor I guess. I can agree with that.

It was not Danaerys end that bothered me so much, more the rapid and ineffectual way in which they wrapped it all up. Bran as King I cant believe anyone agreed with, especially as he did NOT have the best story. Jon being condemned to the Nights Watch without anyone publicly recognising his true heritage and with no championing from Tyrion, who after all talked him into killing his queen in the first place. According to D&D it really was their plan for Jon to spend the rest of his life in the Nights Watch, celibate and wandering north of the wall without a family or kids. In my mind he will meet a nice Wildling girl and once again break his vow to settle down with her and maybe even be elected leader of the Wildlings. D&D cant control the story after its end and if I have to accept their ending then this is my future for Jon.
Of course we know that, being Jon, he is likely to spend a few years beating himself up for killing his Queen, but then the light will dawn and he will finally, after a lifetime of selflessness, reach for his own happiness.
Interestingly enough for those who think that Jon, being so honourable, does not break his vows, remember Ygritte who he broke his first vow of celibacy for. Also the time he ran away from Castle Black to try to join Rob after the death of Ned Stark. And finally he well and truly broke his vow of loyalty to Daenerys! Of course we know he did at least two of those selflessly, but I see no reason why he would keep his vow to the Nights Watch following his final condemnation to its ranks.
I also did not like episode 1 of season 8 mainly because I felt that Jons first solo Dragon ride should have taken place in much more dramatic circumstances, preferably in connection to what I hoped would be a public revelation of his Targaryan heritage. That whole scene and romantic interlude with Dany should have been left in the cutting floor. It was an opportunity to add something else unique and exciting to GOTs very long list of great moments. So disappointed.

Where everyone ended up was cool: Brien always wanted to be a knight, Bron always wanted to be rich, Sansa always wanted to be queen, Arya always wanted to defy convention and be what she wanted to be, Jorah got his honourable death, Jon never wanted to be king and always wanted to return to the North - the list goes on. The problem I have is how they got there, in 6 episodes: 7 seasons of character development concluded in 6 episodes? Battling the army of the dead could've been at least 2 episodes but, instead, 7 seasons of build up to battling the army of the dead, and they're wiped in 1 episode, seriously? I think the Winterfell battle took longer, and maybe even the north battling the wall took longer. When episode 3 ended, I was thinking, So how are they gonna conclude an epic saga in 3 episodes, with closure? Other let down was episode 6: should've carried the energy from episode 5 to the ultimate climax but instead just fell flaccid, anti-climactic, impotent.
I was hoping for something like Jon challenges Danearys about the genocide but she flips out and, Dracarys! Then Jon steps out of the flames and she accepts him as king, or he beheads Drogon, or something like that but, no, we got the Shakespeare ending and mostly tragedy. Could've captured Cersei and made 3 episodes of just deciding what to do with her, let the fans marinade in her defeat, for a bit, lol, but, no, instead - cold stage-exit for narrative instruments. Wanted End Game, got a housework-payable finale.
Ah well - most people I know stopped talking about it within 3 days, and just moved on.

Now see, I agree that it was always going to be divisive, but let's be REAL about who the genius behind this franchise actually is. It's the writer who created this world in his novels, as long as the showrunners had his existing work to adapt from it was seen as the greatest show on television. The problem is their lack of passion for the material. If they had that, they might have been able to relate to the characters enough to be able to pick up from where the books left off and even with a basic ouline, give us something that better matched up to what they did in previous seasons. It was weak. Weak for the plot holes and gratuitous plot armor elements that made no damn sense, it just wasn't put together good. We are seeing that happen a lot. But these people work so hard. So? You don't think you can work hard and not be distracted as a kid on the last day of school waiting for that final bell? Because that's how it came across. And let's not even point out the grievance that both fans and Ryan Reynolds had about another stroke of their genius. Deadpool. In X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Let's not talk about the current state of the Star Wars fandom that they are about to apply their genius to. Good luck thinking people will ease off considering.

There's no reason to watch HBO series and D&D anymore. Cause at the end they lose their grip and end the story in a rush without any reasonable ending.
1. Why Daenerys need to turn into mad queen when her whole life she battled to be different than her dad and suffered for his mistake? Doesn't make any sense in real human life.
2. Why Jon had to kill Daenerys when he didn't have to kill bigger and worst murderers than her. He let go Night King, He let go Lanisters and many more but he could not wait to kill Daenerys.
3. Daenerys didn't get chance to prove herself as a good ruler in westoros which she was already in other worlds. It doesn't make her a bad ruler suddenly. Like someone suddenly forgot how to swim, drink or eat.
4. In films children don't die, in reality in every war children die. Who is behind it and was it deliberately that's the question. Killing innocent didn't match with Daenerys personality yet avenging her advisors death and securing a fear in hearts of future enemies, justify her ruthless. She didn't get chance to explain it to Jon. nonsense.

Emilia cant slate a series ending that she was involved in professionally and financially. She is being highly diplomatic. I dont see that Daenerys tumble into madness was inevitable because she was daughter of the mad king. There are many children in the world today of seriously mentally ill parents who have not taken that route. Rhaegar in the series was not mad, just brilliant. Viserys was heading that way and Dany was determined not to be like either him or her father. Personally speaking I come from such a background and have managed to avoid the family curse fairly successfully throughout my life partly because of my own absolute determination not to go that way, dictated by the examples I had before me of other family members who each fatalistically followed the same route. I grieve everyday over that genetic heritage but it is not inevitable. History repeats itself if you ignore the lessons of the past or are simply a fatalist. Having a very strong faith in the wisdom and love of God helped me tremendously.

Honestly I feel for Amelia she as an actor is in a delicate position along with all the the other actors. they cant just say it sucked because unfortunately it could effect them not being able to get other roles. Honestly the actors half assed season 8 because they didnt like the direction the show was going, which was pretty obvious to all watching. Their interviews leading up to the end was pretty telling how unhappy they were with the season. HBO you are a giant in the entertainment industry when you read the season 8 script you should have taken D&D to task and told them that this shit they called a season wouldnt fly, and if D&D refused you should have fired them and hired better writers. I know JR Martin only wanted D&D to write and direct the series but you could have easily paid him more to insure hed agree. Honestly were still waiting for his next book.

Put it in this perspective, if you are working off bullet points and not the actual book it's most definitely going to be harder to explain. Yes the last 2 seasons were rush and everyone is a professional critic these days. There's not going to be a remake, like do people understand how much that will cost HBO? And who's going to remake it? The lads that said they'd do the last Jedi most people complaining are the ones that spammed the seasons through to catch up with those that have been their from the beginning so they can jump on the bandwagon, I have watched it from the beginning and I have loved every second, he'll even my parents who are elderly have watched it from the beginning. I don't like people that start watching something because it's the trendy thing to do hahaha.
