In trying to be so clever about its time travel / alternate timeline / alternate universe rules, Endgame completely messed itself up. That being said, Endgame is still good and quite an achievement for what it does, but if you think about its rules of time travel too much, it makes no sense whatsoever, contradicts itself, and crumbles under its own cleverness. Really. Just think about it. Or don't and enjoy the movie.

Let me guess they reshot it because they want to point out what would happen if Loki got the gem (that happen in end game. That's why the russo brothers need the ancient one to explain it to the audience what happen if you change the past.
