Not gonna lie. this movie made me sick to the stomach. I felt so ill that I couldn't sleep for like 4 days. The worst part is that I live in Sweden and I had this dumb theory that this occult stuff actually happens only hours away from where I live (even though it's not recorded in Sweden. I can't call it bad either because if a movie can make you feel like this. have some sort of impact on you, you know it's not only a cheesy horror movie. It really felt like I was there I recommend people NOT to watch this because it can give you the awful creeps for days and lack of sleep.

I dont know what are you all talking about, the movie is dull and has LOTS of dead portions that could be easily skipped away, most of the deaths were off camera, and the protagonist, even christian, werent in real danger most of the movie, it was not horror, mostly awkward and uncomfortable, maybe the only decent scene was the old folks scene, and i get the point, a stunning, impecable, greenie, colorful, sunny and joyful heaven converted in a living hell is an outrageous unexpected scenario, but that is not enough

I personally loved midsommer, the feel of the entire movie is beautiful and details are all over are exciting to pick out. Although it felt many scenes were cut out/ left to the imagination, I'm conflicted with weather I wanted those extra bits or if it's good as it is from the point of a viewer but taking in the entire movie is a trip itself and I've come to the conclusion that it lays down the plot very well. I definitely recommend watching it once before watching all these YouTube videos

I watched the entire movie last night on Amazon prime. I had no idea what I was getting into. The acting was really fantastic and the scenery and costumes were lovely. It is an absolutely dark film and I really cant recommend it. There is no snippet of happiness in this movie. It really makes me not want to go to Sweden. The movie was well done though I guess. Just not my cup of tea. I wouldve liked to of seen one person get I happy ending Im not sure Dani really did.

Seriously. When you see this guy talking you cannot think for one second that he is sane. Just learn a bit of body language. I'm not saying he is a psychopath but not a sane person either. Plus you don't wake up in the morning wanted to learn all those shit about demonic entities and all.

Interesting creepy and unsettling and very good but much of the theme, idea & ending was taken and copied from The Wicker man 1973. So unfortunately it's unoriginal that is unable to devise a separate climax from the original. But still an unnerving film and classic horror ride.

the thing is, I go to a Waldorf school, and if you know anything about it, you know that we also have may day, and during that day, we all dress up, and dance around the maypole( hence may day.
So when I saw this movie, I thought. oh god. Im glad I don't live in Sweden.

Um, worship of the sun god? For one, in Scandinavian tradition the sun is viewed as a female entity. Also, despite her importance in the folklore and mythology, as well as being the focus of both the Midsommar and Midvinter festivals, she is never refered to as a goddess.

Why would you watch this before seeing the movie? I was halfway through the movie and I watched this, and it still felt like it was way too much info. I knew nothing about the movie going into it and that's the way to see it.
