Horror Movies That Are Basically Perfect SoooGood1975: I totally disagree with Heredity being listed as a perfect horror film. At best I would give it a 4. 5. I found it to be ridiculous, laughable in some places, and anything but scary. The twist at the end wasn't a twist, because it didn't fit. It minimalized the movie by making this demon, which the movie brings about late and makes it seem like it is this power creature, turns out to have power over a small handful of dutiful followers, who worship (after decades) in the roof of a barn. Maybe it will be creepy if you light candles around the tv room, turn off all the lights, hang weird, creepy posters around, and get plastered to the point of being silly. Then sit down and watch this with some friends, and you can jump out at each other and scream while the movie plays. Once you're sober, you won't remember it. Oh, sorry. You don't have to get drunk for that. I was sober and don't remember enough anymore. I do remember my impressions, however, when I saw it. Waste of time and a couple of talented actors.

I'm not typically keen on slashers (so Nightmare on Elm Street and Halloween, aren't really my cup of tea; I do like Psycho though. Also did not enjoy Drag Me to Hell, I don't get why people like that one (especially over any of The Evil Dead on this list. I barely remember Carrie (watched it as a kid, but otherwise, I like every single other movie on this list. I would've added The Thing, The Witch, Suspiria, Eraserhead and Don't Look Now. Certainly many others too.

Hereditary is very good movie but i don't think So that babadok and it follows are that good. I think on this list should be some classic movie like first exorcist or omen. Those movie shows that you can make great movies whithout using So many computer efects. Were is shining this is classic that definetly should be mentioned. And for me there should be some movies like conjuring those movies are So good.

I know I'm in a minority here, but I have to say I didn't find Hereditary to be especially disturbing or any kind of masterpiece. I found it to be a decent and well-acted but fairly standard horror flick. I enjoyed Midsommar more for the amazing cinematography and compelling visuals in general, but again, not especially scary or even that disturbing (the head crushing scene aside.

I hate to say it but the most scared Ive ever been was actually the Blair Witch Project. I was 30, so theres really no excuse. I walked into the cinema expecting it to be like a documentary and thought the whole thing was real footage. Am I really the only one who was affected like this? Also. Paranormal activity 1 affected my sleep.

There are a few films that shouldnt be on this list, it follows is one, the film had all the building blocks to be a good film, but completely ruins the only thing about it that made it inherently scary in the swimming pool scene

Yes, drag me to hell is one of the greats. Good list so far! Ah you ruined it with Alien and Silence of the Lambs. Excellent movies, but not horror (Sci-fi and Thriller. Should have made a shorter accurate list.

Zombeavers. Only kidding. The climatic scene of The Void is worse than any nightmare. VHS is messed up in parts. Your list is weak, Silence of The Lambs and Alien are like watching Coronation Street for me.
