The show literally revealed what Piper was in the midst of the first few episodes.
Most series that would surround this kind of material would reveal it in later seasons. The other reason is that it went too fast and feels like a miniseries, therefore making it not very memorable. The characters are good, but it's gone way too fast in its first few episodes. At least give the characters time to develop and grow relationships with each other and add storylines as to where Piper came from and just episodes of her adjusting to society, as well as the relationship between Allison Tolman's character and Piper.
It's apparent that the show is going to be shut down and that is a shame because it showed so much potential in its teasers. If it were to be remade and re-released, it could be a film but with a different plot.

Emergence is twisting the trope though by blowing the mystery early. Not just for the audience but the main characters four episodes in and the main character already knows the truth.
Mixed-ish immediately sucked me in where Black-ish had sent me away when it first came out. The former has me actually engaging in the latter.
Young Sheldon kind of sucks as a spin off. It's a decent stand alone show but it feels spiritually different than The Big Bang Theory.
Prodigal Son is good. It does what many shows can't do. It's along the lines of what Psych did creating a narrative where we care and we wanna see bad guys caught.

I total agree with you on all of these shows being canceled. Especially Mix ish, Emergence, Outmatched, The show with the judge etc. The crazy thing about Mix ish they showed Rainbow's mother as a fair skin woman and her sister was clearly mixed now on Mix ish her sister or mother doesn't look biracial or like fair skin black women. Rainbow's adult brother seems more like her son Junior but on the show as a kid he seems more like Diane/Zoe and I'm not buying it.

I've been watching Prodigal Son. My biggest disappointment with it is how easily Malcom is manipulated by his father. For someone so smart, rather disappointing. It also has a similar sounding story line but can't put my finger on what I remember it from. I. e. well off family, father eventually goes to jail - not necessarily for being a killer - but the whole time wife knew what was happening but didn't want to disrupt their seemingly perfect lives.

I disagree with Mixed'ish. Blackish tells what it is like for a modern-day black family. Grownish is about what its like to be generation z and being a black gen z. Mixed'ish tells what it is like to be mixed in the 80s. That is why the shows are good because it tells the different stories of different generations. Mixed'ish is actually really funny and good. I like it just as much as Grown'ish and Black'ish

All look boring and probably all will be cancelled. TV is just too TV'ish to have any great long lasting new shows anymore. Just to much competition that can take on any theme and show almost any content for just broadcast TV to be relevant.

I like or love most of these shows. I forgive them for canceling a show if they let it end after the story has been completed.
I like MIXED-ISH but it makes me cry when it hits too close to home for me.

I watch Evil but i think its. a little corny -- they don't have the budget or what i dont know but it isn't quite there. ill watch the remainder of the season but season 2 will definitely be hard fought

Heyy! Have you watched Emergence? Try watching it, it is intriguing and mysterious. Very interesting. And I think itll have a 2nd season or atleast not what you think that it'll get cancelled.

911 is an excellent show. Very diverse strong characters. Plots are good and not focused on the color of someone's skin. Most of these shows are trying to make a point and failing miserably.
