Sony Pictures CEO Made A Sad Confession About Spider-Man Boomboxboi: I dont think theres anything wrong with Disney/Marvel requesting 50% of the earnings spiderman movies make in the future. Marvel has rejuvenated the character and given him a storyline that is unique and fresh. Sony didnt do a great job with venom, it was pretty lacklustre and tried to insinuate that it was part of the MCU with its style and character development. Theyre using feige and his team to mimic the success. Unfortunately theyre gonna fall short. Into the Spider-verse was a cartoon. Tbh, i got sick of the heroes being in different universes. Having one continuum makes crossovers more realistic and enhances the storytelling as it does in the comics. Maybe Sony thinks that 5% is reasonable while they rake in 95%, im not sure but it seems that way. Theyre also trying to do damage control bc Far From Home needs dvd sales for both companies. I personally that Sony is making a mistake and theyll lose fans if they start losing the look and feel established in the MCU. Bad move Sony, look how well the x-universe worked out. Whats the plan now? Inundate us with spideyuniv
erse stuff till we vomit! Youre gonna screw it all up. Just like before.

Spider-Man movies were NOT working before the character's inclusion in the MCU. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie failure is evidence of that.
Now, Sony has to basically soft-reboot the character again as it can't reference anything regarding the MCU going forward. The Tony Stark character played a major role in Sony's two Spidey movies and in the Tom Holland character's development. They now have to ignore that.
Also, will fans be enthusiastic about a de-MCUed Spider-Man? Will Sony be faced with another Spider-Man movie failure?

Looking at the future of Disney/Marvel and what they plan on doing in phase 4 I do not see them having as much success as they did with the infinity saga. It's not just because their swapping genders and race it's that they are trying to strike it rich with odd ball unknown characters like they did with Guardians

Sony saw that Spider man can draw in way more than they ever thought possible so they wanted it back. Now Sony will restart and restart and restart and restart. ugh!
It will be a right of passage for upcoming new actors breaking out.

I dont blame Tom for saying that he agrees with sony. He has the one on the life time opportunity to play spiderman. If he gave sony a reason to fire him they will. So hes in his best behavior.

There are so many characters and good stories on the Spiderman universe, I think Sony could totally nail it if the find good writers for the next films

I keep hoping this is just a big coordinated act between Disney and Sony to keep Tom Holland from spoiling something big down the line. Maybe not. :(

Sony: Feige is to busy for Spider-Man, he has to much on his plate.
Disney: We are happy to announce Fiege will lead the next films of Star Wars.

It's not a good look for Sony that they have this guy talking crap and then less than a week later taking it back and promoting Spider-Man 4.

If Spider-Man leaves MCU, I'm not going to see any Sony's Spider-Man movies. Because MCU needs Spider-Man and MCU'S Spider-Man did great!
