Things Only Adults Notice In A Charlie Brown Christmas woodruffbrian: Most of the problems deal with the limits of the animators, but it isn't a classic for the quality of the animation. The writing and the metaphors transcend those limitations. Everyone expresses their character through their difficulties in keeping their focus on the play at hand (which I think is rather on point in terms of how children and adults behave when working together, and laughing at Charlie Brown's tree is the culmination of their failure. But Linus' speech and the arrival of Christmas eventually tranforms them. The tree doesn't represent Charlie Brown's feelings about Christmas, but Charlie Brown's feelings about himself. And the love and support of his friends actually tranform the tree (and therefore Charie Brown.

This brings me to tears, as all my family has since died. We watched the very first Peanuts Christmas special on our very first TV, a Curtis/Mathes console that Pop bought as a family present. It was a pretty special occasion, as my Pop had vowed, years earlier, to never allow an idiot box into his household. At the time, we all thought Pop was just an old fogey, but now realize he was right - its an idiot box. lol We also watched the first Star Trek episodes on that TV.

Aluminum a delicate metal? I guess that's why they make cars, trucks, airplanes, cookware and buildings that (OMG ) people live in, among about a thousand other things, out of it. Suggestion: Leave the obtuse analysis of iconic childhood characters alone and go out, take a walk, read a book or find someone to talk to (preferably a mental health professional.

Rebuttals:
-Its a cartoon.
Also, Linus does let go of his blanket, when hes giving his famous speech about the true meaning of Christmas.
-The play really isnt that important.
-He won because hes Snoopy.
-Last minute sale, and lots of the huge, major stores are closed. I mean, it _is_ Christmas Day.
-Its a cartoon.

Linus' Magic Swiss Army Security Blanket strikes again: By merely wrapping it around the base of the scrawny twig tree, the tree gains enough strength to stay upright under the weight of the single red ball decoration.
. and grows new branches & needles, filling out like a healthy tree. :-P

The metal trees weren't really metal they were aluminum, when j was a little kit like right before starting school and during early elementary school I remember these type of tree's, I didn't care much for them and an glad they never caught on, at least I haven seen one since then, ?

How did Snoopy win the Lights Decorations contest with such a minimal display?
It appears none of the neighbors' houses have had much effort put in
There's your answer: Snoopy was probably the ONLY entrant and won by default, lol.

One minute and 23 seconds into this and it's another waste of time from someone just wanting to put something on youtube and attempt to sound like it's special or important and they are some sort of professional reporter or other

No, no, you're watching it all wrong. As the show begins, you have to remember that it's a CARTOON. It's not a documentary. It's make-believe. Made up stuff doesn't need to follow any standard rules of authenticity.

That's 6 minutes 28 seconds I'll never get back. What an opinionated waste of time. Leave it alone--its a classic.
Your commentary needs the help of Linus' magic blue blanket. Good grief.
