Those connections to his past would've made this feel more like an actual Rambo movie. Plus it would've made for a more marked transformation once shit hits the fan and he turns from chatty Rambo to I'm-not-taking-my-pills-anymore Rambo, the same way Creasy went hardcore in MAN ON FIRE the moment he said I'm gonna kill 'em. Anyone that was involved, anybody who profited from it, anybody who opens their eyes at me.
Another important benefit of an exposition character like Trautmann's grandson would've been to fulfill his granddad's role of standing around and telling people how dangerous Rambo is and just what sort of hell is coming their way. That character could've been captured when Rambo first goes to Mexico so when the cartel gathers their forces to go after him, he could've advised them to take a good supply of body bags. :-)
Oh well, missed opportunity. But what we did get I enjoyed, so nothing wrong with that.

Never got that. He asks Carmen for help and then she just disappears. What did she help him with exactly? Why wasn't there any scenes of her helping him to explain what she's doing exactly to help? Where'd she go afterwards? Also why did Rambo randomly just walk up to the cartel and get his ass kicked?

Any critic needs to watch Mexican Cartel murder videos that are PLENTIFUL on the net. Not even darkweb or anything. Lmfao. The American Propaganda is insane. German born, london raised here. Florida was the cheapest port and easiest to get into America. No wonder mexicans are EVERYWHERE in Florida.

Great movie especially for those following the Rambo movies. What happened in this film is actually the worst blow ever happened to him. I think Rambo forgot about the woman that sold his niece to the trafficker.

I think this RAMBO is my favorite. I agree with many of the other people commenting about cheering more for Rambo in this movie. than the others. We NEED Rambo more now than ever before
