A remake or sequel of a movie from twenty yrs ago doesn't seem as dated or even as long ago, in comparison to a 70s or 80s movie remade in the 2000s. Technology advanced far more in that space. Now cgi is limited far more by the amount of time creators can put into development, given they have a set release date to work towards. Yet cgi is overused in action movies now to the point that some will state the original older movies looked less false, given that cgi was once added only where standard effects would be impractical. Character chemistry and a good story in general have arguably fallen to the side in favour of flashy effects. There is perhaps no real justification for a remake of a hit movie disguised as a loose sequel aside from relying on the franchise movie brand name to still be popular and rely on it's cult like following together with new fans to make big bucks once more. Movies are also arguably aimed at a younger audience than ever before (the average cast age together with the gradual lowering of age ratings over the years also, but that may only annoy older movie goers; )

So many of you love to bash Hollywood for the reboots, prequels, sequels and lack of originality and yeah I get it. but this is nothing new. If its so easy to write, cast, produce, direct, etc. an original film then you all do it! And though everyone loves to criticize this perpetual pandemic I have no doubt each of you will be contributing to the gargantuan box office numbers. Chumps! Peace Im out!

Is it me or did she butcher a bunch of names?
Anyway, looking forward to several of these sequels. .. Highly likely to wish theyd let well enough alone, but now and then you get a gem. :-)

Master And Commander definitely. After reading Lord Cochrane's biography I couldn't wait to see this movie. Lord Cochrane's life story could easily provide the basis for ten great movies.

The Craft 2 is a fake. No one is or will be talking about it ever. If they were it would at least pop up on IMDb but after extensive research. No body anywhere cares to do this movie

I am not interested in Top Gun! I skipped the first and have no problem skipping the second despite my absolute love for Jennifer Connelly!
