What Joker Gets Right That Other Batman Movies Got Wrong Amine: In my opinion, this joker was inferior to the one shown in the dark knight. I think revealing so much about the background of the joker was a mistake. Like a magic trick, once explained the magic is gone forever. This joker was portrayed as a person with mental issues, an obvious attention seeker, someone who dreams of normal life and relationships and who blames society for his state. Everything about him is planned and rehearsed like an act, nothing is spontaneous and everything is reactionary making the plot predictable. The effect his killings had on the masses who were already at the edge was thus effortless and unintentional. The joker from the dark knight was completely different, he didn't demand attention he took it, he never reacted to events he caused the whole god damn thing. He had a plan all along but everything seemed spontaneous and out of order. He was a true agent of chaos. All this joker did was dancing around and cough laughing.

Joker was phenomenal but I think an important aspect has been missed. One of the biggest twists comes from Thomas Wayne himself. After the subway murders, Wayne himself acknowledges that the degenerate 3 worked for him but he didn't know them. But he referred to them as family. Penny worked for Wayne 30 years prior but he knew everything about her when confronted by Arthur. He is a billionaire in the middle of a campaign but could recall everything about her, her alleged boyfriend and the abuse Arthur was subject to. Also that he was adopted and totally dismissed him being his son. How could he know all of these details, even what was in her file at Arkham if he wasn't involved someway, somehow? Let's not forget she had a signed photo from Wayne. hummm. think about it

He doesn't even look like the joker he just looks like a clown and I tell you as a long time Batman fan of the Batman Universe Joker is no clown. He's much psychotic then this or the suicide squad joker. If anyone came close to getting it right it was Jack Nicholson. Nevertheless, Mark Hamill is the true Joker cause no one can laugh the sinister laugh like him. When he starts out slow then begins to rise and get louder and louder till he's blowing up with his crazy laugh. That's the true Joker.

Well this isnt a Batman movie first of all. and none of the Batman films did anything wrong (Im excluding BvS and Suicide squad because everything was wrong with them) but Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman and Robin, Batman Begins, Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises all have their own thing that is. Joker is not a Batman movie, its a Joker movie about the Joker who isnt really the Joker but could be the Joker, or it could be a Joke, we dont know, thats the Joker.

This is the type of creativity that Edward Norton wanted when he did the Incredible Hulk movie. They edited and released a totally different movie and the reason he refused to do any more. To bad. Look forward to Joker 2. Phoenix enjoyed doing this to much and really cant stop thinking about it as he has discussed already about what they could do next. Never thought I would ever see someone top Heaths version. Bravo mr Phoenix.

My problem is he came off more of as a crazy loser and isnt methodical as the Joker is supposed to be, it's all based off whim. It's like any average man can become the Joker. He is still portrayed as dangerous and unpredictable but it's just seems to come up missing somehow, it's like I don't want to know why he's insane. His persona just came off as very lame.

You accurately recognized that T Wayne was told though Bruce eyes, which colored his view. Somehow, you failed to see that this movies view was no more accurate because it came from Arthurs POV, its not some objective, closer to reality portrayal. EVERY characterization of T Wayne, no matter the source, is nearly identica

This movie wasn't grim or dismal. The so called VIOLENCE was small in comparison to the terminator previews, Gemini movie, heath ledger's joker, batman vs superman. I can gou on and on in regards to violent movies. This joker is beyond GREAT!

I just hope that WB will see the writing on the wall that this film was right and it felt dark and gritty now they need to input the Batman with less high tech gadgets and more of his detective skill and brute hand to hand combat.

Joker wins because it did not rely on CGI.
Did not try to cram a backstory and death in one movie.
Did not waste any time with needless explosions or wild stunts.
Less is more.
Take note hollywood
