Into the spider-verse grossed less than half of homecoming and a third of far from home. To say that Sony has proven themselves capable of telling the same caliber of story with that film is laughable.

not in love with the mcu verison of spiderman or the sony amazing spiderman movies so I wasn't invested either way although I did like the last animated spiderman movie and the sony ps4 spiderman game.

They can probably put together a pretty good Spidey stroyline and universe without the MCU. What they cannot do is put together a universe at the expense of the MCU. That is the big mistake

I'm pretty sure the third movie was in a contract anyway. Seems kinda all meaningless. True test is beyond the next movie. We'll see
