Jack Daniel's is Tennessee Rye whiskey NOT Bourbon! However, most people even whiskey drinkers don't know the difference. Bourbon is a trademark name just like Scotch or Champagne. These trademark names mean it can only be made in a particular area. Scotch is only made in Scotland. Champagne can only be made in France. So call champagne from California, although made the exact same way has to be called sparkling wine, not Champagne (this is a trademark name. Again, people that don't know this will call California sparkling wine, California champagne. Being both an ex-bartender and born in Kentucky, I know that Bourbon can only legally be called Bourbon if made in Kentucky. The label a bottle of Jack Daniel' does NOT say Bourbon. It says whiskey.

To be fair, some of these you speak of, the plot in the book explains them better and gives more reasons for the actions. 3: 15 TY someone caught this, it isn't a mistake, Jack is indeed disconnecting from time, the film doesn't explain this well though, I agree (Here an explanation, time inside the Hotel is different from rest of World. People tend to miss this. It isn't a mistake though. 3: 34 Here it is assumed Lloyd is the Devil. She cannot see him because she isn't meant to see him. Llyod isn't after her soul. 4: 50 the Luggage was shipped by another source, the film never states this though. IN that perhaps that could be a mistake, though they didn't carry it in Beetle. (Well some they did, rest was shipped)

I'm surprised Looper ignored one of the more obvious flaws to The Shining. The Hotel Manager refers to Grady's daughters being 8 and 10 years old. But when you see the Grady daughters. They're identical twins. Now unless there's an unusual medical condition that allows a woman to hold a 2nd child in her womb for 2 additional years, I don't see how the twins can be different ages.

I noticed item #1 big time, but you know what happens whenever you point out such things in movies: everyone jumps all over you for being overly critical.
btw, I doubt that you can find any piece of level dry ground big enough for that maze anywhere within 50 miles radius of Timberline Lodge (Mount Hood, Oregon) which is the hotel shown in those early helicopter shots.

I don't understand one thing. When Wendy confides to the doctor that Jack dislocated Danny's shoulder why didn't the doctor ask more questions and investigate the incident more completely. Even in 1980 child endangerment was a serious situation and Wendy would obviously try to down play the incident. This wasn't an accident per se it was because of Jack's drinking.

I always thought the bartender was the Devil himself. Jack says he would sell his soul for a drink. It seems he was already losing his mind, but the scene at the bar seems to seal the deal. And soon after that, he appears to become fully possessed by the hotel and the killing begins to occur again under the form of the caretaker. No rest for the wicked.

Wendy doesn't say the incident was 5 months ago. She says Jack hasn't had a drink in 5 months. That's not necessarily inconsistent with Jack saying the incident was 3 years ago. He could have relapsed and started sobriety over again; or he might not even have begun sobriety until long after the incident.

Do you really need to be told that everything that happened in the Gold Room never actually happened? Lloyd wasn't really there, the bar wasn't actually stocked and Jack wasn't actually drinking, it was a figment of Jack's imagination thus all of the mistakes you pointed out are meaningless.

Nitpicking ruins movies.
Life is FILLED with inconsistencies, so I am not bothered by any of this. As for Lloyd the bartender, the reason Lloyd and the bottles are gone is because we have switched to Wendy's point of view. She can't see what Jack sees.
Otherwise, great video.
