I've not seen the second movie, but Olaf wasn't nessessarily being insensitive. The reason making the whole plane out of a black box is a joke is that no such plane would be able to fly. Which means riding a plane carries the inherent risk that it may crash, however unlikely.
So in the same way, a sink-proof ship wouldn't be able to serve it's purpose. To be lived, life must carry the potentiality of death, and so there's nothing cruel or unnatural about what happened. It is better that their parents genuinly lived and died tragically than being locked up like Elsa forever and kept safe.
The self love message isn't just about taking care of oneself.
Because what do you mean by your Self?
Really, I'd say, in conjunction with responsibility, it's the perhaps the single most important thing a human being can learn. And not many stories I've seen have explored it to my satisfaction in popular media.

My biggest question about the Northuldra people is are they white or are they brown? Because when you watch the movie they seem very brown but I cant tell if thats because they spend their lives outside. But Elsa and Annas mom is northuldran, but when we see her shes very white, and so are Elsa and Anna. So are the Northuldrans white but just tan because theyre outside all the time, or are they brown people? If theyre white because theyre outside all the time, then it makes sense why Iduna is white when she goes to live in the palace with Agnarr. But if theyre brown people which we are led to believe, since they are indigenous then why is it Iduna is white when we see her? If youre brown, and you dont go outside for a long time and spend your life in a palace or a house or whatever then youll definitely get lighter because of the lack of sunlight, but youll still be at least a little brown. So whats up with that? Can someone explain?
