It wasnt even scary at all and the acting was okay, the only one that actually did an amazing job was lin she is a phenomenal actress. what also made me upset is that we didnt even get to see kayako only in the opening scene when the woman was in japan. I dont like how they made the family the grudge just like in part 2/3. also in part 3 didnt it leave off in chicago? so how did she bring the curse back with her to wherever they live?

Besides mainstream opinion, I personally enjoyed the new grudge film. It for sure wasnt the best film of the series, but it was worth watching. The story was good and I like how they connected it to the original grudge story, although I didnt like the jumping from time-to-time perspective. The scares werent the greatest but there were some decent kills and the movie was shot very well. Although the movie wasn't scary itself, it kept an eerie atmosphere. So, I personally enjoyed it.

This movie is creepy but couldve been much more creepier. They shouldve expanded more on the special effects and made the scares longer like in the previous films. This film had great potential especially with the connection to the original grudge. If they decide to do another movie, get Takashi Shimizu as director.

Im confused, what did you say about Kayako in the trash bag? Was that in the reboot? I was so hoping Kayako would at least make a cameo or a small appearance at least once in the movie.
