When Kate looked at her mother's painting I think it was like her looking through her mother's eyes so she could show her how much danger she is in hence which is why her mother painted a picture of the previous nanny, after finding out the truth and running to the kids to tell them she quickly realized that they know they're there and that all of them including the housekeeper has been playing her the whole time.
And when the credits rolled seeing her hand being dragged along the wall is her ghost haunting the house as well, so basically the movie was like a big telling Kate's story kind of thing.
Now as for Myles behavior I believe he chose to act hot and cold with her as another mind game of his to make her believe that he was just a troubled kid that needed help when in reality he was just breaking her down knowing that she'd go to Flora for reassurance only to find out that both of them were playing games with her in the end.

The theory that she was just remembering what she went through in the past as she was the mother drawing the pictures at the asylum and she just saw a young girl that came to visit her and made herself remember what had happened to her in the past and she saw herself at the end of the movie and screamed would of been a great plot and would of been a great movie, but u cant keep big things like this as a producer. Figerior or whatever that girl producers name is, should of highlighted more on this but she didn't and u can't hide plots like this when u have a million dollar movie on the line. This movie only made 5 million out of its 13 million dollar budget. That's horrible. It's sad how this movie got a rare rating of an F on a A to F scale. She could of made something out of her name and got know for making great movie but she literally waste her only shot she had as producer. Even her past work is graded horriblely. It's sad because this movie will now be known as the biggest horror flop of 2020, that is if the audience even wants to remember such a horrible movie ending that hasn't happened in quite a while.

Tbh, horror films with no endings mean it's just scarier, which makes it good, bc horror is supposed to be scary, if the end of the film is a cliffhanger and scary-ish then that is a good ending, there will be a 2nd coming out (Again only if it's a cliffhanger) and if there is the 2nd movie will explain everything! I havent seen the turning and I dont know really anything about it and i only just heard of it yesterday so. I'm gonna watch this film and see for myself if it's good or bad bc the same amount of people saying that it is epic and the other half is saying is terrible. for example 20 people said it's the best and 20 people said it's horrible so. in my opinion so far is not good or bad, I heard the ending has confused to many people but if it didnt have an ending, wont they just make a part 2?

I feel like the reason they ended the movie out of nowhere is because they're trying to hint towards making a part two, but they don't want to just say it flat out or else it would ruin the whole point of it. I still think they could've created it better though, because it all just felt extremely rushed. The whole movie was going great until it came to the ending where instead of having the A-HA moment you have at the end of a movie when you finally understand the purpose of everything that happened, you just walk out extremely confused asking yourself what the hell did I just watch?

It didnt work out. It was a bad movie. It wasnt scary, repetitive, not a good crescendo transition. Feels like a first act that never ends until it does and you end up cheated out of your money for paying to watch crap.

I didn't like the movie. The ending was lazy. The story was lazy. The acting was boring. Maybe if she white girl was black or Latina it would have added a little flavor to this stale movie

I'm so tired of seeing people saying this movie sucked because they either weren't paying enough attention to what was in the movie in or because it might be over their head.
