But I think, it is a wrong decision to put all on this show. The format of Futurama fits better to the today's time. The gags works better, since the setting of the whole show is a distortion of our epoch and our technical improvements. From yesterday (1999 when released the first episode) to today.
I am only a single fan, that is sad about the death of this show. But please bring Futurama back.

You guys never mentioned the years it aired on Cartoon Network/Adult Swim, which is a pretty big detail to leave out considering it was the sole reason the DVD movies were eventually made, and then eventually aired as episodes on Comedy Central when Viacom offered the production company a more lucrative deal.

If they wanted to end it properly then they should of had a longer last episode instead of putting so much in 20 mins. Although I suppose they did leave it open at the last episode at the end where they would have gone back to the spot of where they had broken the 10 sec backward time machine.

Actually Adult Swim/Williams Street picked up Futurama shortly after Fox cancelled the show. Comedy Central picked the show up after Adult Swim had finished its run of Futurama at the end of 2007.

Family Guy had pretty much the same problem, performed poorly because they kept moving its timeslot around, and it kept getting preempted by sportsball shit.

You skipped over the VERY long run on Adult Swim which raised the market value proving the appeal. Adult Swim fans are still bitter about the transfer.

I remember being pissed about the 7pm Sunday slot and swearing at Fox when games ran over episodes got dropped. Fox loves to kill shows in varied ways.
