Prancing Pony Podcast has a theory it will be a young Aragorn coming of age and Elrond teaching him who his ancestors are, and the task he must accomplish. This will tie in the movie characters to all of the past history through flashbacks and stories.
Fantastic podcast if you want to dive down into the rabbit hole for 170 episodes

I hope they explore the whole Silmarillion book. Like from the beginning to the end. They could literally do 1 season for each story. I hope they put a lot of effort too. To. make it look amazing this is my favorite fantasy series and Tolkien is truly the father of modern fantasy

I've come to the conclusion that Amazon is not going to do any type of Lord of the Rings prequel. I've been hearing about this thing for years on YouTube and haven't seen anything about it officially nor have I seen a single episode even though they first announced it 3 years ago.

Alatar and Pallando are the blue wizards. I too would like to see them in some shape or form. I would also like to see more of Lord Khamul the Easterling, the second-in-command of the Nazgul. He is the only Ringwraith we know the actual name of and where he came from.

Three for the elves under the sky
Seven for the dwarf lords in there halls of stone
And nine for mortal men doomed to die
In the land of Mordor where shadows lie
One ring to rule them all
One ring to bring them all
And in the darkness bind them

I've long thought they should do EVERYTHING from the Silmarillion, from start to end. It would probably require at least 5 or 6 seasons of 12-16 episodes (1 to 1. 5hrs) to do though. There are a ton of characters that are going to have to be more fleshed out.

provided they do a better jo than the shadow of mordor and shadow of war games.
Celebrimbor was nothing like what we see in the game, not that i didnt enjoy the character but I am a bit of a purist when it comes to lord of the rings.

What I want is a prologue about the first age at the start of the series, but the series itself is about the second age (just like the movies had a prologue about the second age but the movies were in the ending of the third age.

this cast jrr in a poor light. as if circumstances throughout the mythos are spur of the moment occurrences. tolkien did at times change the result of events but it was all well thought out.
