Why You Don't Hear From Jack Gleeson Anymore RASPUTIN: This guy might not rate himself that high but I have to say there are very few if any actors that I can bring to mind that I hated more than the part of King Joofrey (even the name sounds pretentious. His whole style, manner, swagger, rubber faced expressionism, arrogant stance and squeeler type voice operated every button that could be pressed on me to make me hate him beyond all possible reason. When he is interviewed away from the the part of Joffrey, he is a really nice guy, but boy could he set the blood pressure rising as soon as he appeared in his part. He was the precocious schoolboy of years ago, the class snitch that you would like to knock from one end of the schoolyard to the other, and then do a return trip for good measure.
To me that only goes to prove what a great actor he really is, yet he doesn't realize it. I hope that one day he does, and that he comes back to play a part in a similar role, because in fact I find him a great actor, and worthy of some really special opportunities.

I personally think it is great their are many actors from these big time shows/movies that dont choose the Hollywood lifestyle. So many times we have seen actors who get caught up in the spotlight, and get corrupted by the culture and lose a lot of themselves over time. Personally I think more actors and actresses should be choosing this same path. It's an unhealthy lifestyle in my opinion. Which is why I worry for new people getting into acting and get big anymore.

He clearly doesnt like 'acting', not just the lifestyle but the craft itself. But I really respect that he decided to go find something he is passionate about, rather than doing a job that he has good chances of making alot of money of off but doesnt find fulfilling. I mean the set and that whole aspect of the creation of a story, if you love acting truly, theres no way you wouldn't love that.

I had the chance to meet him at a convention in Switzerland once, he's a really great guy, funny and kind, he even made the effort to introduce himself in french for the non-english speakers. I had a great talk with him and it made me realise how talented he was as an actor since I completely forgot I only knew him to be the horrible Joffrey!

Well 99% of the world are NOT actors because there are so many options out there. As mentioned many times in this video - he simply had no interest in acting & preferred other pursuits. Very refreshing given that many people out there want to be famous just for the sake of being famous.

I was surprised how accurate this was. Tbh I only watched the show because we happened to run into him when I went to the UK for vacation. I only knew he was because other people were telling me. I feel so lucky to have been introduced to the show in that way. Really cool dude.

How can you play a part alongside a beauty like Natalie Dormer and not be somewhat lulled into staying in the industry? I get that the Hollywood elite lifestyle is about as genuine as a 3 bill, but who says you have to live the same way they do? It's Natalie Dormer!

I have to wonder if playing such a hateful character as Joffrey bothered him.
James Gandolfini said that playing Tony Soprano past season three started to really bother him, and that he never wanted to play another mobster character again.

I've never been able to understand how people compare & relate actors to their on-screen personas. Lena Heady, the actress portraying Cersei in G. O. T, supposedly had quite rough a time, with people frequently yelling shame at her.

That is too bad, I found him to be an amazing actor. I think it would be very hard for a person to play a part like that, maybe it would be fun, but I don't think many people can pull it off like he did. I wish the young man well.
