The Best And Worst Pandemic Movies Paula: 12 Monkeys has a great soundtrack too.
I was hoping you'd have found some movies about the 1918 Spanish Flu, because although I have seen a number of episodes of TV shows like Upstairs, Downstairs and Downton Abbey where the flu figures prominently, I can't think of a single motion picture about the Spanish Flu. Or the 1957 Asian Flu. It's apparently not a subject that appeals to filmmakers, mainly, I suppose, because people laying about in bed and coughing themselves to death isn't very interesting.
Awakenings is a good film about the results of an epidemic that many people have felt was linked to the Spanish Flu in the same way that chicken pox is related to shingles. A virus that stayed in a cluster in your spinal column during much of your life and that suddenly springs out in a very horrible form years or even decades later.
Jane Austen was more akin to being joined up with Bram Stoker's vampires, I think. Much more era-appropriate.

I have been going through a number of films like 28 days, Containment, Epidemic, Viral, etc.
The most unbelievable so far has been Cornavirus update.
The plot is weak, the characters wooden and the comedy of errors totally unbelievable. E, g, sending masks to China, not increasing production and begging China to send them back! Sending hospitals the wrong kind of masks and suggesting that the vunerable are too expensive on resources to save. Or ignoring all the data from China and Italy and going it alone in the wrong direction. And building the biggest critical care unit in the world with 8000 beds and delieverying only 30 units from a supplier who has never previously made any. MP telling BBC NEws they tested 8000 people so far and goes silent on Germany reported to having tested one million in the same time frame.

It's not a pandemic movie, per se, but one of the best virus films of all-time is 1971's The Andromeda Strain. My personal favorite film, and a masterpiece of film making, this movie is one that needs to be seen to appreciate. It is rather slow moving, and doesn't have a lot of action, but the scientific methods and portrayal are some of the best! Incredible movie!

Overlord (2018, A J. J. Abrams film (Star Trek. Barely recouped its budget, but great reviews by critics, fans, and Rotten Tomatoes. Its a revisionist WW II Nazi story, zombie-thriller, horror/gore fest. Stars Wyatt Russell (former hockey player, son of Goldie Hawn & Kurt Russell.

Contagion: yeah. Outbreak: okay. The Stand: alright, cool. The Happening: kind of nonsensical, but alright. The Purge movies: wait, what? Mad Max: I think we're straying from the material here. Nicholas Cage movies: perfect.

I forgot which one was the one that actually shows people touching the virus balland then putting the virus ball on their face. I want to see it again but I can't remember the name.

The original 2002 Cabin Fever is one of the worst movies of all time. To make it through the entire movie in one sitting is an accomplishment

Oh, I almost forgot: Live Free or Die Hard (2007) starring Bruce Willis and Justin Long.
