Hidden Netflix Gems You'll Regret Missing

Many people dismissed the show because at the start it only had human agents and people whined Where are all the superheroes, It's a show about the AGENTS, not superheroes, Yeah, but it's Marvel, so where are all the superheroes?
Of course in time, it introduced aliens, cyborgs, Inhumans, a version of Ghostrider, and now they have a couple people with superpowers on the team. But all people seemed to care about was that it was a Marvel property that didn't have any of the famous Marvel superheroes in it.
It's not perfect (I wish the whole Inhumans angle wasn't being virtually ignored now, outside of the main cast, but I still think it's a great show and the one I most look forward to each week. I'm going to miss it when it ends.

So, I tried the first recommendation I thought I'd like, Haywire. This is one of the most egregious wastes of talent I've ever seen. The direction is all that's haywire. The story is muddled, inexplicable, you have a host of GREAT talent that it's difficult to believe signed on to this mess, but the movie is supposedly being carried by an ex MMA fighter, Gina Carano. She's VERY good in the fight sequences and I liked her in Deadpool but she's punching above her weight here, and the direction obviously didn't help her much. The whole thing looks like a thrown together made for TV movie, expensive talent and a cheap movie. And with that cast it should have been great except making Ms Carano be the lead. She's not a terrible actress for an MMA lady, but she's not a lead, and needs a lot better direction regardless. It makes every other recommendation highly suspect. This gem needed to stay hidden.

What, keeps me on the edge of my seat trying to stop myself binge watching an awesome series (so that I can get some sleep at last) are brilliantly written sub-plots expertly intertwined, character development that strengthens your emotional tie to the fully rounded believable personalities on the screen, fantastic visuals with great effects that are not overdone, and don't detract from the story telling, but most of all, constant twists in the plot arcing that you never saw coming, where the writers are not afraid to blur the line between hero and villain, or sacrifice a main character or two. That's what made Game of Thrones the most popular series that it was, and that's what made Agents of Shield the absolute hidden gem that it was too!

Thank you so much for recommending Hell or High Water! I have no idea how I missed this movie, it's now one of my favorite movies. Liked it more than No Country for Old Men even. 9/10. Would of been a 10 if a couple scenes were expanded on a bit and some handled a bit different. Now onto 'Starred Up'! I love me some criminal & jail movies; )

LOVE Haywire. My lust for Fassbender and MvGregor have nothing to do with this review. Ok, yeah, the are my movie boyfriends, but this is a great action movie, and that's what it is, an action movie, not an action movie where the woman is the hero. Blah blah. It's a great action movie.

The wicker Man is one of the best horror films ever created. The original is far superior to the remake too. You can see the influence of this film in some of Ben Kingsley's work, who is also worth a mention and a nod toward hidden gems. Check out Kill List.

A suggestion for the future: Netflix isn't the same in every country so maybe write American or US Netflix or something for these videos so you don't waste people's time with a bunch of suggestions that aren't available for them
