. only following the terms of his contract is an explanation but not an vindication of his responsibilities to a series that so many love. Sure Mate do what's good for you and what's in the contract - but its the fans that pay the bills - have a heart for them. However if he does do 'follow-thru' then we know he was simply providing a reasonable explanation and not looking to opt-out. we all have only so many hours in a day. Interesting to see how this plays out.

This will be like The Office or Billions if they replace Costner. It just won't be the same.
My favorite character in the show is Beth and she was given some strong arc in the early seasons but I felt like her role was swiftly minimized in the latter seasons.

If anything, he owes the show at least another 2 season. Before Yellowstone he was hardly relavant unless your talking about his terrible over rated movies like dances with wolves mailman and field of dreams. I'd totally still watch Yellowstone without Costner.

Its a great series, Costner, cast and all - be a shame if the series winds down prematurely because of star trouble. I doubt the cast is at the point of revolt after all a series is a steady pay cheque in an occupation where work is unpredictable.

not at all the case - costner wants to break off and direct his own film. yellowstone producer will use the 'john dutton' from when rip was recruited to take his place. this is year old news.

If he was following the terms of his contract, he would have been at work. Instead of making up for his 'no shows', he doubled down on refusing to do his job. In the real world, he'd be fired.
