What's the hottest beauty trend? Freckles! Though freckle tattoos have been around since 2015, it's only lately that freckles are being tattooed on people's faces semi-permanently. Not everyone is on board with this trend, though, since those who have been bullied for their freckles as kids believes this is this a cheap way of commodifying a body trait. Just know that if you're planning on getting freckle tattoos, they don't come cheap! Here are top 5 facts to know about the most recent trend!

Okay as someone who has a lot of freckles naturally I have a few words for those who romanticize freckles: (I see you tan from buzzfeed)
A) freckles for one do not come in the 'perfect little circles' they are fat little blobs on your face, they are not circles they are ovals or weird shapes or whatever.
B) no one naturally had that 'Perfect sun kissed look' they can be anywhere and they tend to end up in the ugliest places possible, like my lip or my ear, not that perfect little areas that are deemed cute by these beauty blogger and cough cough TAN FROM BUZZFEED
C) they always appear when you least expect it. I was out in the sun for twenty minutes and came back looking like a bad Jackson pollock painting. It's not cute if it looks like spatter paint every where. And maybe your one of the few that only gets perfect freckles, to which I say; relish your DNA! But let me and others complain about ours.
D) let's not forget arms or legs or. other area that are not deemed attractive and make it look like you have some sort of infection! No one is going to get freckles tattooed on their leg but guess what? Irish genetics screwed me over and here we are now.
So please-and feel free to discuss my merits below- do not romanize the perfect ideal little freckle because that is almost no one. Do not tell people with freckles that their 'beautiful' if you do not know their stuggle. Many people with freckles do enjoy them but if someone wants to complain about them, let them! Please!
Probably no ones gonna read this
Ah well

The difference between permanent make up and tattoos is not the depth of the needle in the skin!
It's the quality of the ink. For example: A bottle of high quality tattoo ink (30ml) costs about 15 and stays beautiful forever, because it's highly pigmentet.
Wherefore a 10ml bottle of permanent makeup colour costs about 120 and the colour looks like crap after 3 weeks. So that the customers need to come back and pay a shit load of money again and again and again.
Also permanent makeup doesn't fade away complety, but get's blotty and may turn pink, orange, blue and green (depending on the colour)
I've seen it all on my customers and I got it done myself. It all looks really bad after short time.
Just don't do permanent make up.

I cant believe people with freckles are seriously offended by this. I feel immensely complimented or better yet relieved that this isnt something to be picked on about anymore. I wish more freckle faced people would take this with a grain of salt or like a compliment. I was the only black person anyone Ive ever met had ever seen with freckles and got picked on immensely for it when I was younger. Im glad theyre more accepted nowadays. Its so crazy to see the extent of which someone is willing to go to have something I was picked on for. I think its cool.

me haveing freckles and seeing this makes me upset cause the people that actually have them when they were young have been bullied alot, thus why we hate our freckles while people with no freckles can just put them on now that they are older and they won't get bullied. this makes me upset cause ik dam well that some of them where young they might have made fun of those who actually have freckles, I wish this trend will go away

When I was a kid freckles were ugly and if you had them, which I did, you were teased relentlessly. Now those same people that bullied others for having freckles are getting them permanently put on their skin and acting like they didn't beat up a kid when they were in middle school because the kid had a few brownish dots. Its not that I don't like freckles, like I said I have them, it's just that I don't like hypocrites.
reply

I don't get people who are offended by this. If people want to have this, let them do it! You shouldn't take away someones freedoms just because you are insecure, it isn't fair. If you were bullied for your freckles, i'm very sorry, but it isn't other people's fault, and them getting them tattooed will change nothing about that.
reply

I could care less if people want to tattoo freckles on their face. As for me I have had freckles all my life and for many years have covered them because I was insecure about them. either way Im happy freckles face individuals like myself are been accepted and not bullied
reply

seriously? some of the people that have 'em don't want other people that don't to get them? what is wring with you lol? like, do you have any problems with your brunette friend that decides to go blonde? like, please, give a rest, you annoying creatures. ily (not)

Face tattoos for me are a no - I don't care what the motif. The face needs to be left alone. I don't even like make up to be honest, no hijab that covers the face nothing. Your face is you and should be appreciated and loved as is.
reply

LOL and as a person who is covered in freckles head to toe the fact that a person getting them as a tattoo being offensive is laughable. You want them more power to you, but seriously I'm just so upset about it all LOL please.

I had a million freckles all over my face as a child but now I'm down to four freckles I've got two on each side of my face and I used to hate my freckles but now since they're almost all gone I miss them sooooo much
reply

This is dumb, i usually dont get offended by anything but having freckles this got me triggered. People arent tattooing blue eyes are they? Its selective, if you dont have it, you don't have it.
reply

I love how when I was a kid and had a full face of freckles I was constantly teased and called names because of it and they were considered ugly and these days they are a beauty trend smh
reply

i would love to have a tan i would not love to have lots of spots on my face but if that makes you feel beautiful go for it i wish i could find something that made me feel beautiful
reply

Why are freckled people Insulted?
It's a compliment! And if you're mad at how fake they look, do what I do, and laugh but realize it's not permanent.

reply

I naturally have freckles and I was always bullied about them, all of the sudden everybody wants them? Like Im not mad but its just kinda confusing lol
reply

people think that only white people have freckles. but here I am full of them and people would stared at me. i am Indian and it's very rare here.
reply

I guess its just like people with curly vs straight hair. because I cover up my freckles just about every day. you want what you dont have.
reply

Why some look like blackheads, which could confuse you if you have them or not breaking out, and it's a waste of money to get them.
reply

I want to do this. Don't care about hate, I've always wanted freckles and it's my face, so others' opinions don't really matter
reply

I naturally have a little bit of freckles on my nose and I don't want them but it's OK that makes me unique I guess
reply

cute! i think it looks youhful and fresh. just like blush, i think it enhances beauty and makes you look healthier
reply

If you spent your childhood being bullied for your freckles, I understand why this trend would be annoying.
reply

I'm not getting freckles tattooed but I'm about to get random beauty marks/moles on my face and neck.
