Let's also not forget that honestly many of the earlier Disney Princesses were based on stories written in times when women didn't have many options. Would Cinderella really have been able to get a job and take care of herself? No. She did take agency by actually leaving her home and dancing at a ball the way she wanted to. But for a girl like her, the only chance she had at escaping (and not ending up begging on the streets) is by marrying a prince. Nowadays, they're trying to make characters more empowering than they would have truly been had they been designed to truly reflect the time they came from.
I also don't understand why Elsa gets so much praise for being a princess (technically, a queen) who is so empowering in comparison to others. She isn't without flaw, as she ran away from her responsibilities and didn't mind freezing anyone in her path, no matter who got hurt in the process. Her idea of freedom wasn't traveling to see the world, but putting on a sparkly gown and decorating a new home, both traditionally womanly qualities. Just because she doesn't fall in love with a handsome prince doesn't mean she's more empowering than others who have.
Mulan and Tiana don't get credit for being strong and empowering because men were involved in their stories (and because they are women of color, but these women showed tremendous intelligence, strength, and courage during the most difficult times. Needing a man's help a little does not rob a woman of her agency, it does not make her weak, and it doesn't mean she's sending a bad message. We all need a little help sometimes, whether through friends or other loved ones.

Technically by now Anastasia is now Disney following the Disney/Fox merger, even if the character herself technically can't be considered an official princess because of how dark her movie was. While there are some songs that would be corny it would only be from being either overplayed or overused, but to call the princesses bad role models is basically a surface-level overview that means the person doesn't really care. Each of them represented something special, or presented a great review of a side of society most people probably wouldn't see

Close-minded people who say, It wasn't _that_ when Mufasa died in _The Lion King, _ guess what? It was _heartbreaking, _ and, along with some other Disney movies, it taught us about death. It's also possible those people also didn't realize that Disney films can also have the ability for adults to cry as well, and that they have dealt with serious issues, and that some Disney films that were under the long-since-defunct Hollywood Pictures banner, or the long-since-defunct Touchstone Pictures banner were sometimes more adult-oriented.

You are very true in all your TOP. What annoys me the most is when they tell me that Disney is only for kids, I am a lifelong fan of Disney, I love their movies that were part of my childhood and made it wonderful, teaching me never to lose my imagination even if I grow up.
I would even like to have my other DVDs of your movies again, the Disney princesses and the characters from its other movies are also inspiring

Hard, hard, HARD disagree on number one! No one should EVER be shamed for not liking something. Im certain more than a few Disney/ Marvel/ Star Wars fans have been on the snide end of someone declaring with disgust, YOU DONT LIKE SPORTS!
The only appropriate response to someone saying they dont like Disney is Okay. Maybe if youre planning a movie night or a date, find something else you both enjoy.

It is precisely because I love the animated movies and childhood memories that I can state I hate the mega-corporation Disney has become and compulsive need to buy everything they get their grubby fingers on - I honestly hope they lose so much money they need to sell of Fox, Star Wars, and Marvel, so they can learn some humility again.

First, Beauty and the Beast is not Stockholm syndrome: it's a story that teaches a very important lesson of looking beyond the outside appearances and seeing the persons' heart.
Second, the Little Mermaid is more than Ariel wanting a prince because even before she meets Prince Eric, she reveals she wants to see the human world itself.

7: 09-8: 10 Maybe LBT Electric Dino 75 could take some advice from this video and stop triggering most Disney fans by not saying that Disney is an evil cooperation because they get the point that Disney is not a very good company but they still like it.
PS: Don't get mad at me for writing this comment.

One of the most infuriating things I've had to listen to as a Disney fan is that Pocahontas is historically inaccurate. Yes, I know that! You're point? It's clear now that the Disney Pocahontas and the real Pocahontas are completely different things. Pocahontas will always be my favorite Disney movie.

exactly! Beauty and the Beast is NOT Stockholm Syndrome! And I'd also not consider their relationship as toxic. they just don't get along at first. that's all. when the Beast starts being nicer, Belle starts seeing that he is not a monster. it's the most beautiful and magical love story. PERIODT.

Merida and Elsa are great. However Disney has been making awsome princesses since forever. Pocahontas, Jasmine, Tiana, Rapunzel, Esmerelada, MULAN did they end up with men in the end? Yes. Are they still amazing? YES. Are we animated? Yes. Is it weird? YES. Its beyond weird. Anyone get that?

The fun thing is that there isn't something wrong about someone hating Disney, you have the right to love or hate something, and this video and comment section literally just made my day
But yeah, if you let out that anger to someone just because, then you're the dck here

The number ten spot: There is a _major_ difference between Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Walt Disney World, which opened in 1971, is located in Orlando, Florida, whereas Disneyland, the original Disney Theme Park, which opened in 1955, is located in Anaheim, California.

Hey here's one you didn't include Merida SHOULDN'T be a Disney Princess. Everyone sees it as a achievement for Merida, but it is a serious down grade.
And Ralph Breaks the Internet agrees with me
BTW: Vanelopee is a Disney Princess. And no one can tell me otherwise.

It's not Disney princesses who are bad role models. It's 14 different St. Canard residents, who commit a 314 every day. That said though, I've been defensive of Disney, because of my favorite villains, especially Don Karnage and Megavolt.

If anyone ever tells me that Disney music is cringy, I'll pull an Anna and punch them in the face.
Then I'll pull a Mulan and kill them!
Then pull a Friends On The Other Side and drag them to HELL!

Regarding the thing about Disney being for kids, I will say this: Pixar does a better job than Disney itself appealing to older audiences. I dont know why, but as an adult, I just feel that way

Seriously? Those who think adult Disney fans are weird apparently want adults to be boring.
I'm almost 40 and I still love all the things I loved as a kid.

Me: So was every other film that was based on a true story
