Why is Rory graduating on time a plot hole? Ok so she missed a little school but we already know she's capable of catching up on work when she's behind because she did it at Chilton. She misses about a month or two AT MOST of school. It's not like she misses the whole year. Most of what we see with her in the DAR happens over the summer. But her birthday, which is when she starts to realize things are not right is the very start of October on the 8th. Jess comes to see her a couple of weeks later, because he says her birthday was just a couple of weeks ago and then she's back with her mom and and registered for Yale before Thanksgiving. She's back living at Yale just after Thanksgiving. So it's literally a couple of months. She could totally make that up if she wants to.

No one mentioned how Lorelai wanted another baby with Luke but then gets back together with Luke at the end and still doesn't have a kid with him by the revival. Like them trying to find a surrogate didn't make sense bc it felt like Lorelai all of a sudden wanted a baby when she wanted to have one back when they were originally engaged. It also doesn't make sense that when they got back together they just agreed to live together no kids and not bring up the marriage thing again? When the whole getting marriage thing was a big deal bc she wanted to be part of Luke's life and Luke's ex said she couldn't be involved in their kids life bc she wasn't Luke's wife. Answers we never got but yes to me that was the biggest plot hole.

Rory graduating on time is not a plot hole, she literally addresses that by mentioning how busy she is going to be loading up on extra classes to make up for her semester off. Also, of course we don't see her taking summer classes, because the show was on hiatus during the summer and there were no episodes during the time she would have been in summer classes, if she took them. The budget/lifestyle argument is also not a plot hole. They live in a small town, their house was probably not that expensive, and while they never cook and live on takeout and diner food, it's probably actually cheaper than what they would spend on groceries. It's not like they are dining in 4 star restaurants every night, lol.

With Rorys graduation though, it is plausible. There are a lot of things on the show that happened that arent seen like Michels dog eating Sookies sandwich at some picnic (mentioned in the episode about the dog funeral. To that point, Rory probably couldve taken a winter or summer session class without it actually being shown. Plus, I think she only missed a semester. If she took a course overload and maybe one or two classes in an interim semester, she likely couldve graduated on time. I took a semester off from college and graduated on time so its not too outlandish

The whole setting of the GGs house is confusing! Theres a scene when they sit in the kitchen and they come out the side door attached to the kitchen and are at the side of the house opposite where babete lives! Surely if the house is set out the way that makes sense, they would come out the other side? The way it looked was that they came out a door from the side of the living room which I believe was still there as lorelia comes out after losing Rorys chick! But then that door just magically disappears

I'm going to lose my man card one of these days. Dean doesn't have a motorcycle when he comes over to watch Willy Wonka, but suddenly has one when he meets Christopher.
Lorelei clearly knows Dean's mom cooks when they watch Donna Reed, but after her casual date with Judge Reinhold (I know it wasn't Judge Reinhold people, Lorelei comments that Dean has a cooking mom. That's just two. There are at least a dozen gaps in the first season alone.

actually the biggest plot hole is that lorelai and rory and probably some other characters too are all not jewish but use a lot of phrases and words and references from jewish things that they couldn't possibly know as much as they do as goys. this is of course because the entire show was created and written by a jewish woman who couldn't help but drop loads of jewish jargon in even though the characters weren't.

The Poofs had either 1. a 100 years of not getting caught and that year used no security whatsoever or (as I theorize) 2. Head master catches them, by design. As in, he is part of the ceremony, whereby whoever rats out the group doesn't get in (Rory) and all the threatened consequences to the girls are just bluster. There is no way he has no knowledge of their existence or their ceremonies.

I think, you cant take the differences in the pilot episode to seriously, thats normal. Pilot episodes are always different in a certain way. Lukes Diner has a different location, the old gilmore house is a different house. the pilot presents the show to the publisher. There arent many shows with perfectly matching pilots.

What never made sense to me is we never actually see Rory studying, or doing activities, or anything to warrant getting into universities like Harvard. And over Paris who would be like a ninth generation? Paris is also super rich and mentions big donations to Harvard by her family. She would be failing out of school and still get in.

Also, Rory was 16 in the first episode, driving. and her 16th birthday isn't until episodes later. Luke's diner entrance is different in episode 1 than episode 2. In episode 1, it's like they had just moved there, by the way she acts in scene 1 asking Luke for coffee. Should he already know who she is if she eats there all the time?

First season: When Lane and Dean are science partners, its as if he and her mother have no knowledge of each other. But her mother freaked out and busted them all previously when Rory, Dean, Lane, and Todd double dated at the movies. Even if Mrs. Kim didnt recognize Dean, he would have remembered her and her over protective ways.

I know this happens on tons of shows, but it does kinda drive me crazy. all the female characters trading clothes as if they are all the exact same size! Really made me laugh when Rory loans Paris her moms outfit for her date with Tristan. Lorelei clearly is 5 inches taller than Paris! Theres no way shes fitting in those clothes.

In first season Rory, Lorelai and Max are having breakfast at Luke's.
Max studies the menu card very long.
Luke brings some mugs for coffee, they are red.
While Max is stil not deciding what to eat, the mugs change to blue and change positions, 5 seconds later they are red again, on their old positions.

Have you never heard of a pilot episode! The Christopher and Richard's mom plot holes come from that episode before the show was even officially picked up. It makes a lot of sense that those things don't track after they were given the greenlight to cast the actors and flesh out the story.

Okay this is so TINY but in the last episode when Zack and Jackson come to the keep with umbrellas- Rory doesnt shut her door! Its hanging open awkwardly in the pouring rain. I always cringe thinking about coming back to that hours later after the party

When lorelai was dating jason and his father comes to an event, lorelai asked who was that. It's very strange he doesn't recognized Jason's father when Richard worked for him for such a long time, lorelai and jason even knew each other since they were 13

are we not gonna talk about how DIFFERENT the Gilmore residence, Lorelai and Rory's house, Luke's, and a bunch of other settings/places were in the pilot compared to later episodes?
also, so many characters just disappeared, like alex, jason, etc.

I remember a big one that bothered me the whole first season= in an early episode Rory says Chilton requires all students to be on a sports team but that storyline is dropped immediately after she plays golf once with her grandpa as practice.

The one thing I think doesn't make sense, is the houses layout. Why is it that big, but only 1 bedroom, why did Lorelei allow her child to have a bedroom on the ground floor (which is Hella dangerous) and so close to the kitchen.

I was so thrown off by the actress who played Richard's mother coming back in a different role. She didn't look exactly the same and I was wondering if she was her sister or something. Lol glad that was cleared up.

I did not agree with any of those. I could easily explain my reasoning, but it would take too long to text. You, in my view, are just plain wrong. The writer is amazing and did a perfect job with no holes.

People can eat out a lot on a lower budget. She has a good job and they don't have a lot of expenses otherwise. Plus Luke's always letting them have free food.
Using the same actresses isn't a plot whole

I never understood why Logan's family disapproved of Rory but they took him to Rory's Yale matchmaking party set up by her grandparents. If they thought she was in a different world why would they attend?

On the first season, Kirk doesn't know Miss Patty, and almost calls the police because she ate a fruit on Doose's store. On a later season, as he presents a show, we are told he had been her student as a kid.

Biggest plot hole is the lack of financial responsibility on Christopher's part. He never paid child support & at some point, it is insinuated that his parents are wealthier than the Gilmores.
