So the number 4 part is what I like to call the Tim Burton trope (although, Im pretty sure other movies have done this even before Tim Burton, and he was in no way shape or form involved with the production. Where you have a character who lives in a dull, gloomy, boring, and sometimes spooky world. Then at some point during the movie, they enter an alternate world where its colorful, exiting, fun, and entertaining. However, things get pretty sketchy. This kind of trope happens in a few other Tim Burton movies (Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Alice In Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)

This movie was really good. I am trying to read the book but it is freaky too. I'm at the part where Miss Spink and Miss Forcible tell Coraline she's in danger and is predicting her future that ends up being real. Coraline's gloves were green originally. She wanted to have green gloves because it was a stark contrast to everything that was grey and dark. The movie still tells that story. But her gloves in the movie are blue and orange.

One thing I noticed from coraline is the theme is mostly insects here are a few examples
1. The dragonfly hairpin on coralines head
2. The robot bugs in coralines room in the other world
3. The mantis tractor her other father rides
4. Her real parents car is a volks wagon beetle
And theres so many more insect themes in the movie

Still remember when I was like 10 years old, my class got stuck in the computer lab during a blizzard. The teachers were about to put coraline saying it would be a fun movie to pass the time Seconds after it started the principal came and stopped the childrens movie saying it wasnt suitable for children She was right

Doesnt the book explain the ketchup stain? Or any other important questions we have?
Like, is it all real or was it all just a dream because Carolines parents had no memory of being kidnapped even when they had ice on them for a second and it looked normal outside. Were the parents kidnapped to start with?

Another fact: When the Welcome Home cake is presented to Coraline, the O in the word Home has a double loop. In cursive writing, a double-looped letter O indicates that someone is lying, showing that even though Coraline is welcome in the other world she is not home

I think coraline is a lesson to show that
Be happy of what parents you got
Some parents might be strict or a action you might
Not like but you still got to be happy to have
Food and shelter I think that's the lesson for this movie

Did you know that in the welcome homecake
The o features a double loop
According to professional scientists 2 loops in a letter o means its a lie so She really wasn't home.
SHE ISNT HOME

Who all found the message? The song the other dad played had the words our eyes will be on Coraline. This indicates the fact that their button eyes will be on Coraline. Did u catch that too?

Me and my daughter love this movie! My girl watched it first when she was just 4 and loved how courageous Coraline was when confronting the Beldam. We still watch it time and again.

Coraline is a smart and lively girl, this is what I like the most about her. BTW, her mother's voice ( the voice over artist) has great, mesmerizing voice & accent.
reply

I like how the song is Foreshadowing like as cute as a button in the eyes and how on the cake there was a double circle on the o meaning she was welcome but not home

I remember listening to an interview with the author of the book and Tim Burton in which the author agreed with Burton's reason for adding Wybie in the film.

I always wondered how did Beldam take the doll back from the grandmother and replaced it with the Coraline doll? I mean it wasnt even in the Pink Palace?

To be honest I find the actual movie versions of stories like this more interesting than the books because you could dive into secrets more easily
