Reign probably doesn't belong on this list. It's so far off the style of The Crown and for a completely different audience. The Crown is aimed at a mature audience while Reign relies on prom costume design and gossip girl story arcs. It's much less believable and much too fictions. It's an alright watch if you want something mindless with shallow peripheral characters but it's not a work of art belonging in this list among shows by Julian Fellowes or Peter Morgan. Cate Blanchett's work puts it to shame in this category I'm afraid.

Damn I've tried all of these! But I couldn't agree more with the picks! However, Reign is a little too inaccurate for my taste, specifically with the costumes. Though Victoria is my absolute favourite show, and Downton and Outlander are up there too!

The Tudors is definitely worth watching. Its accuracy, intrigue, and story itself is absolutely amazing! ( to all Ntalie Dormer fans. Downton Abbey adore. I only watched parts of Outlander, The Crown, & Victoria.
