Sanford, I agree with you. Fred Astire, and Leslie Caron, Slewfoot dance from Daddy Long Legs movie. Like I said the list needed to be longer. I found a dance from Damn Yankees 1958 with Bob Fossie and his then wife Gwen Verdon, I've never see anything like that before. Who's got the Pain, both of them are Dancing this. I think it's amazing.

White Nights had every reason (or every opportunity) to be a classic movie. You had two of the all-time greats in two different dance disciplines, with an absolute legend doing choreography. Unfortunately, all of this was injected into what felt like a bad wannabe Bond flick.

6: 21 At least three people were filmed for different parts of Alex's audition performance. A professional female dancer, to make the scene more polished. A guy from a B Boy posse, who refused to shave his mustache! And Jennifer Beals herself.

What about the street scene in Fame? And I'd have included something from Grease over the Saturday Night Fever scene. John Travolta's a fabulous dancer, but the choreography's lamethere's a reason he gives the prize to the other team.

Glad Singing In The Rain #1. Barn Dance shoulda been more than honorable mention. Time of my Life, Dirty Dancing, John Travolita song, Footloise, plus a few more. The list should have been longer. Some I didn't like. Changing times.

So many great movie dance scenes that were not even mentioned: opening number from All that Jazz, the rooftop dance from Sweet Charity, students dancing in the street from Fame and anything by the Nicholas Brothers,

Either the people who put this together are shamelessly pandering to younger audiences, or have actually never seen the dozens of great dance scenes from Golden Age musicals superior to much of this list.

MsMojo - Missing from your Top 10 lists is The Love Goddess of the 1940's who danced with both Astaire and Kelly; Rita Hayworth. You need to go back and watch her dance. She was an amazing dancer.

Final Dance - Step Up
You Can't Stop the Beat - Hairspray
Cheek to Cheek - Top Hat
What a Feeling - Flashdance
Footloose - Footloose
(I've Had) The Time of My Life - Dirty Dancing

what is the video that the guy sings do you want to dance, come dance with me it is an older video, with a man chasing a woman through I believe to be a hotel lobby trying to get her to dance.
reply

The Nicholas Brothers in Stormy Weather deserved a mention, if not number one.
Even Fred Astaire said that, in his opinion, their performance was the greatest ever put on film.

reply

Disliked because you somehow managed to discuss Chicago without mentioning Bob Fosse whos signature style is one of the main reasons the show was made into a film. Get it together!
reply

The best was Singing in the Rain! I watch it regularly. There was pure joy when Gene danced it and it continues to manifest every time I watch it. Thank you for this Mr. Gene Kelley.
reply

I was very surprised to see Prove Me Wrong here, but so so happy. It is just phenomenal. Good list, but I agree with a lot of others here, Time Of My Life should be number one.
reply

Props for including White Nights this time, but you still left out the much overlooked, jaw-dropping Nicholas Brothers scene from Stormy Weather. Seriously, check it out.
reply

The Cell Block Tango scene in Chicago has always been one of my favorites! They should've added, All That Jazz to the countdown! Those were some awesome moves!
reply

I agree and enjoyed most of your choices but was a little disappointed you didn't include either Donald O'Connor or the Nicholas Brothers.
reply

Credit to Marine Jahan who did ALL of Jennifer Beals dancing in Flashdance. They did not even credit her at the end of the film.
reply

How about Danny Kaye and Vera-Ellen in The Best Things Happen When Your Dancing from White Christmas? I love that number.
reply

Footloose should be #1 but Flashdance was a joke, was supposed to be serious dancing and there wasn't one move that was
reply

One of my favorites is from White Christmas with Danny Kaye and Vera-Ellen to The Best Things Happen While Your Dancing
reply

I cant believe the final dance from Center Stage is not on here. Mixing all different genres of dance with modern music
reply

They are all so wonderful! It's like deciding which of your children you love the most. The choice is just too difficult.
reply

More than a woman was probably my favorite scene and just in general Saturday night fever had some good music
reply

How can Jumpin' Jive (the Nicholas Brothers) from Stormy Weather not make the list of greatest movie dance scenes?
reply

My cousin's girlfriend at the time was one of the dancers in the movies Chicago in the Cell Block Tango.
reply

More than a women is not as good as John Travoltas dance, his is waaay more iconic and harder that the duet.
reply

I am so disappointed that shes calling Gregory Hines, Raymond. Like Really? Who the heck is Raymond. Smh!
reply

Tell Hollywood studios don't remake weside story. or breakin plus they can't remake singing in the rain
reply

Why didn't you say who really danced in the scene from Flashdance? It wasn't Jennifer who played Alex.
