On my own personal list, Azazel is number one too obvious there would be a show without him and I'd argue he has the biggest effect on Sam and Dean out of all the big bads I mean they had been trying to kill him since they were kids, The Darkness is number two because I love cosmic level threats up to I think season eleven we only seen mostly magical threats on a planetary scale but she was a threat to all creation plus she never really was defeated, Crowley is number three because he lasted longer than most villain and is a great character on his own, Zachariah is number four because of how much he taught the boys about themselves and for how much trouble he caused, Lucifer is number five because I find him overrated but he still has an impact, the end

British Men of Letters also deserved an honorable mention. That said, I definitely could've used less of the Leviathans, British Men of Letters, and Apocalypse world. half a season of each wouldn't been MORE than enough, and could've been replaced with more traditional monster hunts. There weren't many of them in the later seasons. I like the overarching story, but thought it was better when more broken up with hunting like they did in the earlier seasons. It seemed like there wasn't much regular hunting after season 10. And most of the hunts they did do had other motives. British involvement, teaching Jack, etc.

Azazel and Lilith did exactly what Lucifer need. Azazel created perfect vessel with these kids with demon blood. Open the gates of hell. And we shouldn't forget that John was about to break 1 seal, so he did it too. And Lilith killed Dean, so its started plan the release of Lucifer. And she did exactly what his boss want to and sacrificed herself. So they are successful villians. But I like more Lucifer in season 5. But yeah, soon enough he started to be more clowish. But I like these snap-kill moments with him and red eyes.

I love Crowley so much but he stopped being a villain by s10. He became their ally. He was badass, menacing and all around amazing but not a villain. Honestly, another one that deserved atleast an honorable mention is God/Leviathan Castiel. We saw him for like 2 episodes but my God was he bone chillingly terrifying. It was even more scary because he was wearing the face of the character that all of us love and adore to death. Alastair should've been there too.

Honestly, Lilith just needed more screentime, and she'd easily have bagged the number 1 spot. She was absolutely terrifying, like straight from a horror movie rather than a fantasy show, and she remains, to date, the most evil character in the show. Plus the boys never, ever defeated her. She won both the first time and upon he return.

Dick Roman? Oh really? The leviathans have the WORST CGI of the entire series that give you more than laughter, and their leader is not even intimidating or threatening in any way, they are the worst villains of all seasons. I saw much better and more intimidating episodic villains than leviathans, seriously.

Lucifer should have been #1 because Crowley wasn't even a villain at the end anymore, he became their ally. And no one leaves an impression such as Lucifer does because he is pure evil but you kinda sympathize with him and even understand him too. Crowley really isn't a villain, he has a good heart

Azazels connection to their childhood and the mystery behind him is what made him the best villain to me. No other villains felt the same after him and i stopped watching the show i think immediately after they defeated him and the Leviathans came into the picture

Come on! Crowley as the number one villain on supernatural. I honestly thought it would be Chuck, hes the one who started this whole mess and screwed with the Winchesters so much. He is so awful and I hate him and he should be the number one villain because he is.

Honestly, Ruby is the best. and worst. villain. Not even Azazel or Lilith or Lucifer are as badass as she is. They show their true colors from the start. But Ruby? She played a nice demon while ALSO leading Sam to do the worst thing possible.

I definitely would not have put Crowley before Lucifer in this line up. After season 8, he certainly wasnt what I would consider a villain; more anti-hero. As a villain, Im not sure I would even put him before Azazel in your line up

I wouldn't call Crowley a hero nowadays because he's helped them a lot and even sacrificed himself for the boys but he is a great character, one of my favourites actually. I miss him.
